Lead Engineer (Electrical) - VAVE/Cost Out

Job Description

• The primary function of this position is to drive and shape VAVE portfolio by working closely with various Eaton business groups as part Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team.
• The applicant is also supposed to lead key VAVE strategic initiatives for immediate/short & long term growth portfolio of VAVE at DMP.
• This involves close collaboration with various Eaton business group divisions and Global Procurement Organization to generate cost out opportunities.
• The applicant will be responsible for working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant cost out opportunities as well as creating a robust pipeline of executable cost out projects.
• Demonstrated capability in driving NPI/Sustaining/VAVE projects for Contactor, Switch Disconnector, Motor Protection Circuit Breaker, Push buttons, Overload Relay products
• Experience in VAVE projects from concept to launch
• The applicant will provide a strong technical mentorship to skilled VAVE engineers, an unwavering focus on driving outcomes for the internal customers, excellent project management skills, communication & presentation skills and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

QualificationsRequirement:

• BE/Btech/ME/Mtech in Electrical/ Electronics
• 10+ years experience in industry. Handling strategic portfolio for VAVE/cost out.
• Application and Product knowledge of Electrical products. Cost out portfolio building and execution. Hands on experience in Value Engineering principles & its deployment
• Working in global business environment, Drive for results. Influencing without authority. Strategic Planning.
• The applicant needs to have an in-depth knowledge of requirements electrical products functionality, design, application including duty cycle attributes.
• The applicant should have capability to understand and analyses product margin data, product costed BOMs & leverage data analytics & ideation principles to create new project opportunities.
• Identify cost out opportunities in different products and systems through benchmarking, teardown, competitor analysis, functionality analysis (FAST, FCW etc.) and study of applicable standards
• Execute the enterprise-wide strategic projects for various electrical products working with global business stakeholders
• The applicant should have strong stakeholder management skills as supposed to work with various global business leaders to explore new VAVE opportunities. Hands-on technical leader who can build & shape Cost Out portfolio for team.

• Past experience in design and development of various electrical products and services, at scale, ability to provide strong technical mentorship to skilled engineers, an unwavering focus on driving outcomes for the customer, excellent project management skills, communication & presentation skills and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
• Being a technical leader in the team, collaborate with other technology groups within Eaton and enable organic growth.
• Drive culture of Continuous Improvement and drive productivity projects through DFSS, DMAIC, Lean and Automation.
• Leverage DFSS methodology to identify technical risks at an early stage of product development and develop robust product that meets customer requirements and specification
• Fosters New patents/disclosures while working on New Product development, VAVE and problem-solving projects
• Encourage a strong development culture, set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability
