Job Description

    • EIIC Center for Reliability & Safety has an opening for Lead Engineer position in Functional Safety domain. Lead Engineer be responsible leading implementation of functional safety on New Technology Introduction (NTI), New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. The core responsibilities of this position are:
    • Responsible for Design for safety sign-off on the complex eMobility projects by independently leading Design for Safety i.e. Identifying, managing and mitigating safety risks.
    • Responsible for identifying gaps in existing safety process & close the gap by developing design for safety, safety assessment framework & managing the safety certification of the products in eMobility business
    • Responsible to coordinate the safety assessment needs of big bet programs of emobility by working collaboratively with internal teams as well as design engineering teams.
    • Work as Functional safety manager on critical projects , lead functional safety reviews with eMobility leadership , customer FUSA team ,external safety audit team and close safety gaps working with cross functional team.
    • Develops DfS methods for the emerging technologies in the field of safety to aid to risk identification & mitigation for NTIs. Responsible to influence the design and bring in novel ideas to not only mitigate safety risks but also aid to optimize the product performance.
    • Provides project, process, and technical leadership in area of Design for safety for eMobility products. Mentor fellow team members to deliver their projects. Assist in enhancing the engineering maturity model for team in RMS. Assist in planning and implementing technology road map (Safety related items) for RMS
    Job Responsibilities
    • Utilize DFS concepts / tools such as Safety scorecard, FMEDA, Risk Management, Hazard and Risk Analysis, Functional safety concept & requirement, Technical safety concept & requirement for NTI/NPIs
    • Creates, and sustains process and procedures governing product Safety methods, documents and data control for the associated business group
    • Drives PROLaunch execution for NPI programs with work package approvals, engineering management plan and attaining all engineering deliverables per activity matrix.
    • Create and/or revise and sign-off on functional safety deliverables such as Safety Program Plan, Safety goals, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA/SFHA), System Safety Analysis (PSSA/SSA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEDA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Fault Injection test plan, Verification and validation of safety test cases and Compliance scorecard
    • Work with cross functional team as well as global Safety engineering team for designing in Safety on NTI/NPI
    • Work with external safety assessment team for safety assessment and audit of project from ISO26262 compliance standpoint
    • Planning project milestones, executing milestones and hours, conducting deliverables reviews, communication with stakeholder and on-job development through technical mentoring
    QualificationsRequirement:
    • Master/ PhD degree in Electrical/Power Electronics engineering/safety and/or certification from reputed safety organizations like TUV
    • Master with 6+ experience or PhD with 3 years working experience in Automotive Functional safety
    • Proficiency in standards and regulations for product/functional safety like IEC 61508, ISO 2262, ASPICE etc.
    • Having product safety certification experience (TUV, UL etc) will be added advantage
    • Vehicle/eMobility domain knowledge, work experience in the area of eMobility / vehicle electrification will be preferred.
    • Problem solving, Creativity, Process Management and Innovation
    • Experience with any industry proven safety analysis suite of tools
    • Preferred: DFSS GB certified from reputed organization etc.
