Job Description

This exciting role offers opportunity to:

  • The primary function of the role is to lead key technology innovation initiatives for immediate/short & long term growth portfolio of Eaton. Being subject matter expert, the Specialist will collaborate with other technology groups within Eaton and enable organic growth
  • Serves as a technical lead and/or project lead in technology realization programs/projects utilizing our internal project execution processes, including Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, and Technical Reviews.
  • As as a subject matter expert, is responsible for the execution of milestones that are critical to the project. The technical lead coordinates activities with other engineering resources on the team to ensure the timely completion of the project milestones.
  • Single point of contact for the entire project. Responsible for creating, executing and tracking all the milestones for the entire project. Assigns roles and responsibilities for the project team members.
  • Participates in brainstorming sessions contributing to the technology strategy for their department
  • Contributes to the value proposition development for technical projects and programs
  • Supports building business relationships by presenting ideas and projects, participating in ideation events and acquiring resources and funding needed
  • Works as a part of team executing multi-gen technology programs to enable future technology/design advancements
  • Identifies & leads external partnerships, outside technologies and best practices to bring to Eaton
  • Participates in external open innovation events with universities and research institutes
  • Active participation in conferences, seminars and/or consortium meetings in relevant industry to network and stay current on topics in their field
  • Actively contributes to IP generation through authoring or co-authoring disclosures and patents
  • Effectively applies appropriate processes, system and tools (ex: DFSS, AgileStarts)
  • Creates new project proposals and get the consensus of the Leadership Team for funding
  • Develops collaborations with Academica/Reserach instiutes
  • Technical Coaching & mentoring team of Engineer, Sr. Engineers
QualificationsRequirement:
  • Masters in Mechanical Enggineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Automotive domain
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle performance with different power trains
  • Hands on Design & Development experience for mechanical components/system.
  • Knowledge of Requirement Management tools
  • Mech. design layout thermal, structural, NVH, Dynamics
  • Knowhow of automotive power electronics controls, software, inveter electronics
  • Familiar with application software such as motor controls
  • Awareness of DFSS tools like FMEA,Monte Carlo Analysis etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with change management experience
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Innovative aptitude, offers creative solutions for technical problems
