Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing Linux system for large IT enterprises.
  • Hands on experience on Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration (system management, system setupand managing Linux based servers as well as configuring them)- version 5, 6 and 7
  • Experience in Linux OS installation, Software and Patch management
  • Should have strong knowledge on Volume Manager Administration Network OS / SW installation, Linux
  • Heartbeat Clustering, OS patching skills on UNIX / Linux (Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and
  • upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary).
  • Support experience on VERITAS Volume manager and SAN related tools.
  • Knowledge of debugging and troubleshooting memory issues.
  • Must have knowledge on architectural concept regarding console servers for Solaris or Linux (SPARC)
  • Good knowledge about the Linux system files, boot process and run levels.
  • Familiar with the configuration and maintenance of server and network hardware and peripherals.
  • Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or Asset Managementapplications per project or operational needs.
  • Perform on-going performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. ConfigureCPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to put requirements into operational scenarios andcommunicate effectively with management and customers
