• Job Summary
• Work-on and drive VAVE(Cost out) projects for Wiring Devices and Circuit Protection Devices from multiple locations across global.
• Coordinate with global stakeholders and drive project execution through idea generation, design, testing and implementation phase
• Understand product portfolio and business landscape, thereby providing proposals for tear down of particular products
• Leading & owning engineering element of the project will be prime focus for this role.
• Take technical ownership of the projects. Ensure product compliance to global design standards like UL,NEMA or any other compliance standard.
• He/she should possess a strong technical and analytical skills to execute and take engineering decisions based on calculations, simulations, testing and other engineering methods as applicable to the project.
• Complete system / component sizing, designing , simulation and testing activities to meet UL requirements for Wiring & Circuit protection Devices
• Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process.
• Perform and provide guidance on tear down activities and idea generation
• He/she will be directly responsible for cost out , conducting technical reviews, ensuring on time project execution.
• Job Responsibilities
• Experience of working on VAVE (Cost Out) projects for Electro-mechanical products: Switches, Receptacles, Breakers etc.
• Responsible for product compliance to global design standards like UL, CSA, NEMA or any other compliance standard.
• Perform teardown, generate ideas, perform system testing, Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions
• Demonstrated product execution from concept through commercialization on at least 2 projects of medium technical complexity involving concept generation, POC, verification, validation and certification as per global standards.
• Analytical skills must include understanding component design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits and establishing efficient, ergonomic methods of assembly.
• Responsible for a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications.
• Working with integrated teams with local and global stakeholders for remote execution of project deliverables
Qualifications Requirement:
• Education level required:
• BE / M Tech - Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
• Years and area of experience required:
• 6-9 yrs. Product Design & Cost out.
• Technical knowledge:
• Hands on experience of Electro-mechanical products: Switches, Receptacles, Breakers etc.
• Knowledge of relevant UL/CSA standards
• Knowledge of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
• Working Knowledge on SAP.
• Soft skills:
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to customers, and technical staff
