We serve 99% of the Fortune 100, 90% of the Fortune 500, and are the market leader in Software-defined Storage, Data Protection, and Archiving.The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.In this role as a Development Manager, you will manage the migration initiative of NetBackup OpsCenter customers to NetBackup IT Analytics (ITA). The scope of this initiative covers analysis of customer specific OpsCenter deployments, gap analysis and the planning and delivery of the customer transition from OpsCenter to ITA via your development team. The bulk of this effort involves the development, testing and productization of reports, alerts and external system integration functionality within ITA. In this role you will work closely with many of Veritass largest customers, Product Management and the broader ITA engineering team.What you will be doingDrive critical company initiatives (e.g. product releases and special projects)Work closely with customers to understand their requirements and translate those into implementation plans and work-items such as new reports, alerts, integrations etcBuild a highly enthusiastic team who would be working on identified implementation work-items.Perform installations, implementations and upgrades of IT AnalyticsSetup integration with external systems such as ticketing systems where neededTroubleshoot and resolve data discrepancy and query performance issuesDevelop and refine a repeatable methodology to support customer transitions at scaleCollaborate with other engineering teams providing feedback on and implementing any improvements/enhancements required in IT Analytics to improve usability and supportabilityWhat skills, experience & education you need as a team member to succeedBachelors/Masters degree (BE/BTech/BS or ME/MTech/MS) in Computer Science or equivalentOverall 10+ years of relevant industry experience. Direct people management experience, and previous experience leading engineering teams of at least 8 engineers.Shown ability to lead multi-functional teams in implementing complex projectsCustomer Success mindset and a history of engaging directly with customers to solve problemsAbility to take customer requirements and turn them into delivered featuresStrong working knowledge of SQL Databases (Oracle 12c 19c a plus)SQL development expertise - working knowledge of SQL Developer/TOAD/ or other SQL Dev toolsKnowledge of OpsCenter DB (SAP SQL Anywhere/Sybase)Query optimization skills and knowledge will be added advantageWorking knowledge of CRM Ticketing integration (For Alerting -> Ticketing), e.g., ServiceNowExperience with IT DevOps and writing custom reportingExperience with NetBackup, NetBackup OpsCenter or NetBackup IT AnalyticsKnowledge of NetBackup, Private Cloud Infrastructure and SAN AdministrationAt Veritas, we care about the causes close to your heart and enable you to volunteer, donate, and do good.
