The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering scrum teams focused on delivering new features for our industry leading data protection product NetBackup. The ideal candidate will possess excellent inter-personal skills and must be able to lead, motivate and excite engineers on the scrum team. The candidate must have experience with Agile methodologies.What you will be doing:

  • Manage one or more teams, primarily consisting of individual contributors.
  • Hire, coach, mentor and grow world-class teams capable of taking on challenging development projects
  • Build high performing, self-organizing teams
  • Work with individuals to provide technical guidance & work on career development plan with team members
  • Set clear objectives for direct reports and compare deliverables against objectives in time bound manner
  • Interface with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs
  • Drive execution of the product and technology roadmap by collaborating with cross functional teams including product management, software architects, and security experts
  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation and learning, while holding a high bar for craftsmanship
  • Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate across geographies to obtain the results
  • Build a strong culture of continuous improvement, empowerment, and innovation
  • Provide input into departmental budgets and work to manage operational and capital expenses to meet budget
  • Participate in planning and contribute to the development of software releases
  • Flexibility and championing change will be critical for success
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in developing enterprise class products
  • Around 1 to 4 years of experience in managing teams and deliveries
  • B.E. / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Computer Science or related field
  • Conversant / experience of working in Agile methodology
  • Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience working with geographically distributed engineering teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Continual focus and drive to improve the teams
  • Experience working with modern usability, API s and role-based access control preferred
  • Proven ability to create and foster high performing, collaborative teams
  • Track record of creating and delivering high quality enterprise software
