Job Description

This is a fulltime position that will be responsible for running drone pilots on farms in India. The candidate should conceive and own the drone projects, Launch drone projects, oversee the progress of work on field, provide the assessment of project execution from reference farms, and validate and report the drone spraying effectiveness, Operational challenges, business insights etc. This position will require stay and/or travel to the field where drone projects are getting executed.Responsibilities:

  • Conceive drone pilots and plan the related research work to minimize delay and project cost
  • Launch the drone spraying pilot projects, investigate the value proposition and scale up.
  • Enhance drone spraying value proposition by identifying and developing unique drone features, eg: lead drone path planning software, integrate AI solutions for targeted spraying
  • Partner with leading tech players to develop drone capabilities
  • Conceive and launch the drone data capture and analytics projects based on the targeted use cases.
  • Scale up the value proposition across different crops across India
  • Leverage drone ecosystem to develop business models (buy, lease, etc.) for scaling up the solutions
  • Develop and deliver frugalized drone solutions (hardware, software, UX/UI etc.) by partnering with internal groups / external vendors
  • Liaise among precision agriculture group, farmers, technology partners, local support groups etc.
  • Understand all stages of crop growth including nutritional requirements, typical insects, diseases, weeds and its relevance with drone-based solutions
  • Scout the research farms to determine the geolocation of weed, insects, disease and nutrition issues as required
  • Assess the outcomes of drone interventions on the farms
  • Compile and document the field observations periodically
  • Report out the findings and a summary report at end of the pilot
Education:
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering (Preferably Agri engineering)
  • Master s degree in Business Administration or Agribusiness Management preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in Agriculture related field in Agritech industry, Agri machinery, Agri Inputs etc.
