Job Description

  • This Quality Manager shall work with Coe Team as well world areas to communicate the global quality plan and strategic initiatives for the system s business.
  • Support shall be provided to each area, as needed, to clearly define the plan for implementing each quality initiative.
  • Customer loyalty surveys will be used to track and drive improvement in the customer experience as well as identify additional opportunities to improve the customer experience.
  • It is critical that key metrics are established to measure overall quality of systems and the performance of business processes used to execute projects.
  • The metrics are to be reported from each area and consolidated in a format to review with management. Quality Metrics shall be relevant and have sufficient detail to allow the management team to monitor trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
Essential functions:
  • Develop, maintain, upkeep the global quality plan and initiatives for the system s business.
  • Work with world area teams to ensure development and implementation of Systems Strategic Initiatives.
  • Work to drive a quality culture and problem solving approach throughout the system s organization.
  • Define and communicate quality initiatives and programs to world area management / quality teams.
  • Provide periodic update and review of metrics with System s Team.
  • Provide direct guidance and leadership for execution of CoE projects as well as support for other world areas.
  • Support development and maintenance of Project Execution, Engineering, Quality and other Global Standards as required.
  • Support tracking and resolution of customer field issues as needed.
  • Effectively use the customer feedback and survey process to identify opportunities for improvement in the business.
, RequirementsEducation / Experience / Language skills required:
  • Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field
  • 8-10 years experience in leading Quality organization covering all design, engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, testing and commissioning aspects.
  • Understanding of quality systems such as ISO, PED, ATEX, etc.
  • Experience in the manufacture, inspection and testing of equipment used in the construction of measurement systems. This would include various types of valves, instrumentation, flow measurement devices.
  • Proficient in the spoken and written English language
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ANSI, ASME, ISO, ISA that includes International Custody Flow Measurement Requirements
  • Extensive experience in dealing with customers and vendors
  • Extensive experience leading teams of diverse project resources
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Perfect Execution: Global Quality Manager will be required to work on Perfect Execution Initiatives by working closely with the Perfect Execution Leader.
  • Internal Communications: Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Test, QA/QC, Documentation, Shipping & Receiving, Customer Service, Sales and Accounts.
  • External Communications: Customers, Sub-contractors and Vendors providing services, materials or products for Systems Projects.
  • Proven process management and process improvement skills.
Work Environment:
  • Will work primarily in an office setting. Will be required at times to work in a fabrication shop or at a job site with moderate noise levels and inherent safety hazards.
  • Employee will be required to travel 50% for customer meetings, vendor visits or other Emerson offices. Travel will be international as well as domestic.
Tools & Technology:
  • Proficient working with computers
  • Proficient with MS Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Familiar with basic design work processes and has completed basic design packages for external customers.
  • Being able to effectively communicate findings through reports and presentations.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
