Job Description

* Duties and Responsibilities - 1. Risk strategy development Scan macro environment market competition trends and proactively assess emerging risks and various other risk parameters. Adjust policies and interventions to manage these emerging and forward-looking risk Identify attributes/parameters that have causality with risk. Be aware of the sensitivity of these attributes/parameters with risk. Develop/ refine risk policies risk governance and reporting system for all SAL PL product as part of AOP and ensure adherence to prevent any kind of risks Break LRP themes related to risk provided by higher management into smaller projects and lead its implementation to provide proof of concept and execution Ensure operationalization of risk framework and strategies through technology and workflow integration. Form a view on emerging risks 2. Portfolio and risk assessment Define right metrices to measure and track risk across the entire credit lifecycle. Baseline each metric against the pre-defined appetite and ensure timely intervention when breach if any happens. Review portfolio on periodic basis across various risk metrices maintain portfolio quality by managing loss rates conducting loss analysis and work closely with functional teams Credit RCU Collections BIU and Business teams. Monitor/ review risk related operational processes ensure smooth running of workflows support to resolve any risk related process / system issues Oversee loss forecasting provisioning expected loss calculation and report it to regulatory and statutory auditors to remain compliant 3. Risk mitigation Create scorecard to monitor risk parameters on a periodic basis identify trends and plan mitigation actions by changing/ adding policy Analyze ground level feedback on market and portfolio by regular interaction & feedback mechanism with collection team to assess the portfolio strategy Publish risk data on a periodic basis to shareholders business senior management to ensure timely corrective actions are taken for the business provide input to management on loss making segments bottom performing portfolio Monitor adherence to risk policies/ processes in the business and plan corrective actions as needed Maintain accuracy of data audit trails and timely documentation of reports required by statutory auditors Ensure adherence of risk policies at underwriting stage. Risk management is all about managing the right customer/segment mix. Make sure that the said mix is pre-defined and ensure that the mix is adhered to at acquisition stage. Define adequate controls such that the mix thresholds are not breached. * Duties and Responsibilities - 4. Stakeholder Management Interact and present the risk health of the portfolio to Internal stakeholders. Socialize opportunities/threats with respect to portfolio risk management and propose actionable as needed Simulate impact of any risk recommendations/actions for stakeholders to form a view on downstream impact in other processes Relationship management with credit bureaus and other risk capability partners. Understand and assess capability offerings by these partners. Develop use case and liaise with internal businesses and functions for sponsorships and implementation Interact with these external partners on commercial discussion and contracting etc. Meet senior officials from partners to build and maintain business relationship 5. Team development Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent at senior positions within the function Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance of the team Identify and create development opportunities training induction sessions for team members to enhance functional knowledge * Major Challenges - Aligning all the stakeholders to a common goal to manage business risk in a structured and proactive manner Resolve disagreements with business teams on risk policies - business health vs growth tradeoff Keeping up the pace with changes in IT and adopting to the changes in an agile manner Maintain balance between risk process and customer experience * Key Decisions / Dimensions - All decisions related to portfolio management Approval on customer/ market segments with the portfolio Threshold limit decisions related to product program Expense within defined AOP budget , * a) Qualifications Master s in business administration / Post Graduate in mathematics/statistic/finance background Experience in Credit Risk management. Understanding and appreciation of statistical concepts, tools and techniques Understanding and appreciation of Risk Tools Good communication and presentation skills. Functional Knowledge on: SAS, SQL, Decision Tree, R, Python etc. b) Work Experience Minimum 15 year of work experience in Banking and Lending (B2C/B2B) Minimum 7 years experience in risk management/credit for unsecured lending Knowledge of principles in risk management (life cycle management of customer credit) Understanding of Business rule engine analytics Knowledge of IT related processes, platform being leveraged for risk management c) Skills Keywords
