By joining EXFO as a Software Architect (Mobile, Cloud & Microservices), you will work with sophisticated technologies in a dynamic and innovative environment.As a key member of the organization the Software Architect is actively involved in defining, developing and deploying complex systems. The Software Architect will work on the Common Core Framework, which uses a combination of open source, closed source and cloud technologies to deliver common services to be re-used across our product portfolio.As a part of the organization as an Architect you will be responsible for developing and implementing architecture and design solutions to the requirements of EXFOs products and customer support teams; produce the system requirement design in collaboration with peers. Based on the design deliver high end quality products.What youll do:
• Design software modules and services using a mobile, microservices/SOA approach.
• Use mobile, web-services, cloud technologies and open source software to design leading-edge solutions.
• Anticipate business needs and technology trends and articulate the architecture roadmap.
• Create well-defined interfaces (APIs) for communication and integration.
• Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies to both the management team and architecture community.
• Work closely with other R&D Software Architects in all product areas to align product architecture roadmaps.
• Initiate and deliver technology evaluations and recommendations.
• Participate in a Centre of Excellence (CoE) providing expertise to other departments around the Core Framework Services and their associated technologies.
• Educate / mentor other members of technical staff
• Operate under minimal supervision.

• Excellent knowledge of Mobile application development using Xamarin Forms
• Good knowledge of upcoming frameworks like MAUI considered an asset.
• Excellent knowledge of SDLC
• Excellent knowledge of OOPS principles.
• Extensive experience on MVVM architecture
• Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
• Experience in Async Framework
• Experience in SQLite and Azure Mobile Services
• Extensive experience in web applications.
• Extensive experience in JavaScript based technologies like Extjs, AJAX, REST and JSON.
• Extensive experience working on OS like Linux and Windows.
• Expertise of design pattern.
• Understanding of generating crash report and diagnose issues. Take steps to stabilize mobile application.
• Experience in building re-usable bindable controls
• Experience in Web Services REST, JSON, XML
• In-depth knowledge of server-side development, including performance and scalability in any of the following: Java/Scala/Python/PHP.
• Detailed knowledge of REST/SOAP architectures, creating public and private APIs, Swagger, OpenAPI.
• Demonstrable experience of mobile, web-services, cloud-based architectures and using an SOA/microservices approach.
• Strong experience of Amazon AWS, other Cloud (Microsoft, Google) considered an asset.
• Experience in employing open source for core services.
• Strong experience of Kafka and/or similar technologies.
• Solid RDBMS knowledge such as MySQL/Postgres
• NoSQL experience such as MongoDB/Couchbase considered an asset
• Ability to work with other Software Architects to best design, normalize and harmonize software solutions.
• Excellent knowledge of the software development cycle and test driven development.
• Experience working in an Agile team with Agile methodologies (SCRUM)
• Experience in DevOPS, CI-CD environment being able to create CI-CD pipelines
• Knowledge and experience of Big Data considered an asset
• Knowledge of telecommunication technologies, test equipment and service assurance considered an asset.

Desired Candidate ProfileMust have:Pertinent Experience: Minimum 15 years experience in Software Development.5 years experience as a Software Architect.4+ years experience in Android iOS Xamarin products design and development.Education: Minimum Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
