Principal Financial Analyst (Hyperion Administrator)

Job Description

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Financial Systems. The Hyperion Administrator will be the subject matter expert (SME) for the team and responsible for all aspects of design, development, testing and deployment of new product functionality for the Hyperion applications which includes Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Data Relationship Management (DRM), Financial Data Management (FDMEE) and Financial Reporting Studio. This includes the maintenance, governance, testing, troubleshooting, and process administration functions required to support the enterprise on a daily basis. The successful candidate is expected to build and maintain effective working relationships with the Finance community to which they support, along with the internal and external IT resources supporting the systems in use. Additionally, this user will support all day to day activities related to the EPM Suite.What you will be doing:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management.
• Support the Accounting and FP&A team with month end close. running the annual Budget, Monthly Forecast, and Annual Plan in Hyperion Planning and Essbase
• Setup and maintain user access within Shared Services for Hyperion Planning, Essbase and HFM. This includes creating and provisioning of user groups, filters and security profiles in alignment with the needs of the business.
• Create, modify, test and promote calc scripts in Essbase and utilize calculation manager in Planning.
• Create, modify, test and promote data forms, task lists, Smartlists, etc., in Planning.
• Create, modify, test and promote HFM and FDMEE enhancements as it relates to consolidation and automation activities, and HFM Grids.
• Modify and maintain all data mappings and data load activities within FDMEE.
• Manage and enhance application control procedures for Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Essbase and ASO reporting cubes
• Manage migrations and promotion of all changes and upgrades to Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Essbase, ASO reporting cubes and HFM to ensure compliance with best practices and change management policies.
• Initiate and manage requests for Planning, Essbase and HFM enhancements to meet the changing needs of the business. This includes hosting discovery meetings with business and technical staff, defining/documenting requirements, tracking development, performing, coordinating user acceptance testing, and promoting to Production.
• Manage the monthly COA maintenance cycle within Data Relationship Management (DRM). This includes the need to implement new properties, formulas, and extracts within DRM
• Manage environment migrations with the Internal IT Finance support team.
• Develop Standard Operating procedures on both Hyperion Planning and Essbase.
• Cross-train other members in the Financial Systems team

What skills, experience and education you need as a team member to succeed:

• 5-10 years Hyperion Planning and Essbase administration experience. Very strong preference for experience administering v11.1+.
• 5-10 year s Hyperion Financial Management administration experience. Very strong preference for experience administering v11.1.2+.
• 5+ years of Accounting background and familiarity with Accounting close and Consolidation process.
• 2+ year s experience supporting Data Relationship Management (DRM)
• 2+ year s experience supporting Financial Data Management (FDMEE)
• Strong Functional and Technical knowledge of HFM Business Rules and Financial Reporting Studio.
• Expertise in Essbase Administration Services specifically using Calc Scripts; Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Applications specifically using Planning, Calc Manager, and Smart View; Shared Services, Hyperion Financial Reports; Financial Data Management, Data Relationship Management; and performance tuning of Hyperion Applications;
• Perform administrative responsibilities for Hyperion Applications, including performance tuning; data loads; dimension builds; manage Oracle Service Requests for system and user issues
• Design and executing automation of reoccurring processes when possible and efficient using ESSCMDs/MaxL, Batch Scripts and/or Unix Shell Scripts
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent project planning and resource coordination experience.
• Excellent documentation skills required.
• Must be comfortable interacting with the management of all levels.
• Able to participate in project work as both an SME and Individual Contributor.
• Familiarity with Data Relationship Governance (DRG), OBIEE, and Oracle R12 a plus.
