Job Description

Job Summary:

Summary

The candidate will work on Nuances next generation cloud reporting platform to support Omni- channel reporting across all Nuance Enterprise customers.

Principal Duties Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, develop and document application programs for complex computer systems running in the Cloud.
  • Analyze and perform modifications to and maintenance of highly complex operational programs and procedures.
  • Prompt participation in all team meetings and cross- team communications.
  • Document technical designs/solutions and program logic.
  • Analyze system and programming logic.
  • Program clear and concise solutions.
  • Maintain project status documentation.
  • Participate in functional and technical reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to a team of developers and perform code reviews.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements and application enhancements
  • Assist in evaluation, selection, and prototyping of technical architecture.
  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure.

Education and work experience requirements

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or a related field

Minimum years of work experience: 8+

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience working in Java development.
  • Excellent written communications skills, good verbal communication skills
  • Understanding and experience working in Agile development team environments, including code reviews, source control management, general knowledge of software development process
  • Experience with unit testing and/or Test Driven Development (junit or similar framework)
  • General understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Solid Object- oriented design concepts
  • Very strong work ethic, adept at working independently
  • Passionate about technology innovation in the Cloud and enjoys working in an open, dynamic, cross- team culture

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP or other cloud frameworks
  • Experience with any one of the following technologies: Hadoop (map reduce), Spark, Databricks, or distributed technologies like MongoDB (or other NoSQL database), Apache Phoenix.
  • Experience with some Streaming technology (Spark, Kafka, or Hazelcast Jet, Flink, Akka Streams are also helpful conceptually)
  • Experience with Scala nice to have
  • Container technology such as Kubernetes and Docker nice to have
  • Strong Linux skills (any distro)
  • BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI) are nice to have
