Job Description

    Summary /Purpose of the role
    • This role requires significant project management skills, and the ability to influence and lead within a rapidly evolving, cross-functional, and regulated environment.
    • This role also requires strong cross-functional business acumen, including technical, operations, quality, and regulatory-based knowledge.
    • The Program Manager will lead program-planning activities (supported by Functional Managers and critical team members), track progress (scope, budgets, timelines, resourcing) and aggressively exploit opportunities and mitigate risks.
    • Provide routine communication of progress with Leadership will be required. The Program Manager may occasionally be involved at various levels with strategic issues at a department level and / or corporate level, though their primary focus will be at the team level.
    • The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization is required
    Key Responsibilities
    • Managing Small Hydro projects right from planning to delivery encompassing planning monitoring & controlling phases of project lifecycle which require significant cross-functional involvement and may include also leading external resources in the execution of a program.
    • Developing and managing project plans, including scheduling, resourcing, budgeting, and communication, to Project Execution Leadership and Senior Leadership.
    • Actively evaluating the project for opportunities to improve performance; continuously monitoring risk and mitigating as appropriate.
    • Providing daily direction and guidance to team members in the execution of the program and building key relationships with team members, customers and suppliers as needed to execute the programs.
    • Interaction with clients for project execution, monitoring review meetings and visit to project sites.
    • Escalating cross-functional support issues on programs when necessary.
    • The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization is required.
    • Management and administration of all main contracts and subcontracts for projects.
    • Ensure adherence to established contracts management procedures, review and analyse tender document from commercial and contractual point of view (Salient conditions, list of clarifications, exceptions and deviations, risk identification and assessment).
    • Prepare proposed risk mitigation plan from contractual point of view, analyse reasons for delay and disruptions, identify client related reason and issue notification to the project execution team.
    • Have experience in Contract Management. Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills, and significant experience in negotiating with stakeholders like customer and suppliers.
    • Preparation of Time Extension / Delay Analysis / Claims settlement process / Change order management is mandatory.
    • Knowledge of FIDIC (GOLD / RED / YELLOW) contracts would be an added advantage.
    • Support Legal team in Arbitration matters, provide support in litigation matters.
    • Monitor transaction compliance (Project Milestones, Deliverables, Scope Management).
    • Monitor Contract close out / extensions / renewals.
    • Provide Contract Management support in event of dispute.
    • Provide regular review and updates on the status of ongoing contracts to SBU Head and Top Management.
    • KRA: Achieving the MOP & AOP for sales, collection and project closures within budget.
    Key Competencies
    • 15+ years Experience in Project and contract management.
    • Technical aptitude and familiarity with hydro turbines and Pumps.
    • Proven ability to influence others, facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to build relationships and effective organizational skills.
    • Proven track record of complex and creative problem solving and the desire to create and build new processes.
    • Possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done.
    • PMP Certification will be added advantage though not compulsory.
    Technology Skills Requirement
    • MS Project, MS Office, SAP PS/ Hana
    Education & Professional Certification requirement
    • Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical)
