As a partof the data engineering team, they also get involved in testing the performance of the system andsolving discrepancies before it goes live. They gather raw data, decide on how to make it usable,process it to leverage its potential, and then store it in an accessible storage location.Roles and ResponsibilitiesHelp to collect, manage, and analyse huge volumes of data for extraction, transformation,and loading using Python scriptsHandle data modelling, data warehouse architecture, data pipeline management, and ETLtestingUtilize various data warehousing fundamentals for setting up a data warehouseImplement database structure, data marts, data stores, and data lakes in SnowflakeEnsure high-end security and good quality of dataCome up with robust data flow models for the applicationsTransforms data requirements into functional mapping designsSafeguard proper functioning of data once the transfer is doneSeamless collaboration with data management teams on giving required dataTesting the warehouse infrastructure/storage system prior to data extractionOffer regular maintenance supportAdministering ETL tools, app integration, performance tuningWorking on technical/functional documentationMonitor pre-decided ETL jobs and ensure resolution of discrepanciesTechnical Skillset:Expertise in scripting languages- Python- Must haveExperience in PL/SQL and Snowflake development- Must haveCoverage of dimensional modelling techniquesProficiency in programming languages (JavaScript, Java, C++, etc.)Specialization in database engineering skills SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc.Exposure to warehousing architecture processes MOLAP, ROLAP, EDW, etc.Sufficient knowledge about OLAP, SSAS, SSIS, and MDXParameterization of ETL jobs for better time managementProficiency in at least one ETL tool like Informatica, SSIS, Talend, Pentaho, etc. Functional Skills:Data analytical, thinking, and troubleshooting skillsStrong project management skillsEffective communication skillsAbility to solve complicated technical issues, understand risks prior to the occurrenceCompetence to understand the large picture of the organizational data situationCollaboration and team skillsTask organization, time management, and project management skillsCreativity, innovation, and bent for thinking out of the box and learning something newProblem-solving skills
