Job Description

*To provide, coordinate and support the creation, editing and delivery of technical documentation by the infrastructure product team at Emerson. In addition, as time allows, to provide QA support on the usage and performance of our application infrastructure Products and tasks covered include all aspects of configuration and management of Epos infrastructure, connectivity and data management, and future iterations of infrastructure and data management products in our Next Gen. development on the Cloud.Working closely with Product Management, the employee will be expected to:

  • take the lead on documentation of new functionalities developed by the team: directly by creating that documentation, and indirectly by working with and coordinating draft documentation by Product Managers and QA staff
  • editorialize bug fix documentation (release notes) generated by developers and QA staff
    • tasks to include rephrasing, reformatting, occasional image capturing.
  • exhibit an ability and willingness to proactively reach out to others for support, and coordinate information gathering as necessary.
  • regularly attend development ( sprint planning ) meetings
  • meet deadlines associated with release note and release ( online help ) documentation
  • (ideally) provide support to QA and Operations organizations as time allows
This role would best suit a confident individual with a passion for concise, unambiguous communication of technical topics, and a good grasp of IT and Data Management in general, especially systems and application configuration on Windows and Linux platforms.Future opportunities to grow within the organization might be anticipated within the QA, Customer Support and Product Management functions., *RequirementsIT and/or Data Management qualification, degree level and above, or significant demonstrable experience of working with high performance client-server applications that work with diverse data types. 3+ years experience in a related documentation and/or communication and/or QA roleStrong communication and documentation skills, including the use of modern communication media and methodology (especially web-based).Excellent and precise written EnglishGood organizational skillsIndependent, self-driven and confident in interaction with senior staff.
