The Quality Assurance Analyst role will be responsible for test planning, test design and test execution of the software that supports our healthcare platform. This role will work closely within a cross- functional team to understand the needs of our business stakeholders and ensure software enhancements and fixes meet the documented requirements. The position will work with minimal supervision; relying on instruction and pre- established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The ability to work independently and think creatively will be required to thrive in this role. Responsibilities Develop test plans, define and create test scenarios, execute test scripts, assess test results, and report defects as directed. Respond to inquiries from internal users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs. Assist in the gathering and documenting requirements of system changes. Work closely with development and business users to complete projects on time that meet all business requirements. Identify, analyze and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions. Work collaboratively with development as needed to identify and resolve defects. Use technical skills to automate manual testing, where possible. Mentor and provide technical leadership to less experienced QA Analysts. Skills Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team of technical and non- technical colleagues Strong written and verbal communication skills. Complete understanding of SDLC management practices and methodologies with emphasis on software defect identification. Strong attention to detail with outstanding problem- solving skills. Strong technical abilities with advanced data and database manipulation skills, including SQL and Excel Ability to effectively use SQL Server and Microsoft Office to analyze and verify the accuracy of large sets of data. Experience with creating and working with large files, e.g. EDI, fixed width and delimited. Education/ Training Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industry certifications preferred. Required Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst or equivalent role Strong experience with writing test plans and executing manual testing to include: functional, smoke, regression, and negative testing strategies Strong technical abilities with advanced data and database manipulation skills, including SQL, Excel Intermediate to advanced skills using MS Office applications Excel, Word, Access. Preferred Experience: Experience Coding or scripting. Experience in the healthcare industry. Experience using JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, Test Manager and Salesforce. Familiarity with software development methodologies: Agile and Waterfall. Reporting Structure The Quality Assurance Analyst Team reports to the Quality Assurance Manager in the Evolent Health International Office. May be accountable to and responsible for work assigned by the Associate Directors or the Director in the Quality Assurance Organization.,
