Roles and ResponsibilitiesDear Candidate,We are hiring forR&D Design Engineer in Automotive IndustryProfile :R&D Design Engineer,Location:PuneAbout CompanyWe are a global leader in high-end connecting solutions for the vehicle industry and for high-value applications in industrial segments. Our expertise in high-quality clamps, rings, straps and quick-connectors ranges from powertrain and drivetrain applications to medical applications.JOB DESCRIPTIONDevelopment of R&D projects in the field of mechanical and electrical product solutions for connecting technology applications. Responsible for the design development of innovative products and technologies within the overall product development process.

  • Research and development of concepts and constructive solutions for new products in compliance with costs, deadlines and safety regulations.
  • Defines measurable criteria for product and process realization. Collaboration in the creation of measurable criteria in connection with product and process realization.
  • Responsible for carrying out feasibility studies to assess the possibilities and risks for achieving the project goals.
  • Directly supervises the manufacturing process of sample parts.
  • Is significantly responsible for the initialization, creation and monitoring of the concept, product and process design phase.
  • Consolidation and evaluation of results from the basic and functional tests of the test department up to series production release.
  • Definition of the requirements and specifications of the corresponding product process solutions
  • Preparation of detail drawings, assembly drawings and production documents in 3D-CAD (Solidworks)
  • Mechanical integrity calculations by means of state-of-the-art engineering tools (e.g. FEA)
  • Responsible for handing over robust (repeatable & reproducible) product design to local/global Engineering
  • Supports the creation and updating of design and process FMEAs
  • Supports engineering change management (ECM) process
  • Further tasks as instructed by R&D Manager, member of global network
QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge and Skills
  • 4+ years experience as R&D Design Engineer, or equivalent role, preferably in automotive or in a high-mix/high-volume OEM environment
  • Experienced in 3D-CAD software, preferably in SolidWorks
  • Higher degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc, MSc) combined with relevant work experience
  • Proven professional experience in the development of stamped, bent and welded parts is an advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Proven analytical and engineering expertise (Design for Six Sigma, Finite Element Analysis).
  • High integrity, fair, emotionally mature, self aware with a high degree of intellectual curiosity.
