Senior Software EngineerPosting Location : Location IN-PunePosting date 23 hours ago(8/5/2022 7:46 AM) About the job The Red Hat Partner Certification team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will build and maintain tools and tests that will help enable Red Hat s partners to build and certify solutions around Red Hats portfolio of offerings and solutions, while enabling Red Hats customers to enhance their experience when using Red Hat s certified solutions. You will develop applications and certification tests and refine existing code bases to help them scale across a matrix of technical scenarios. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with the Product Engineering and Product Management teams to ensure delivery of high-quality, technically polished tools for partners and developers. What you will do
• Develop new features for certification test processes available for Red Hats certification strategy
• Create and maintain tests and validations to support Red Hat Certification Program policies
• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and tooling for certification analytics and diagnostics
• Participate in discussions with key stakeholders to understand and document requirements as user stories
• Familiarize yourself with open source communities and the process of contributing to upstream projects, while considering how to align certification vision and roadmap with the downstream development and delivery processes
• Work on documentation and unit tests for tools that are part of the certification space
• Collaborate with product managers on prioritizing workloads around release schedules
• Work collaboratively and actively with other developers and quality engineers in an agile environment
What you will bring
• Bachelors degree in engineering or computer science
• 3+ years of software development experience
• Proven experience with Fedora, CentOS, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Advanced development and scripting abilities with Python, Shell, Bash, Ruby, Node.js, or Perl
• Experience with application development using Django
• Ability to thinks in terms of optimism and win-win opportunities over being blocked or stalled
• Passionate about learning new technologies, enhancing existing skill sets and developing new talents
• Experience with SQL (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.) backends
• Competence in developing API-driven microservices
• Software-defined life cycle (SDLC) development skills
• Ability to use standard tools for development on Linux, e.g. Git, rpmbuild, and Docker
• Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) systems like Jenkins
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams, communities, and projects
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with Red Hat OpenStack Platform and hardware components is a plus
• Upstream involvement with open source projects, including patches submitted and merged upstream, is a plus
