• This role is to provide leadership for systems engineering function for various product & technology portfolio of EATONs Vehicle Group. This include multiple product offerings for HEV, BEV and FCEV such as transmissions, 48V systems, air-compressors, advanced powertrain and power electronics. The architect shall leverage his / her hands-on experience for the deployment of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) process for development of vehicle electrification systems. Develop a framework for piloting SysML for engineering the vehicle electrification products with complex embedded software and power electronics. Enhance process flow of current ALM / Agile practices and recommend customizations for SysML artifacts. Champion MBSE transformation across the engineering community and be an active steward of resource groups to broaden the application for systems and design thinking.
• Understand the EATON processes for Systems development including PROLaunch guides on SEMP and determine infusion of SysML artifacts
• Qualify system modeling tools according to business needs spanning from mild to complex mechatronic systems including autonomous applicationsx
• Define process flow with respect to SysML and bring in industry best practices for V cycle, especially on Systems definition, synthesis and decomposition for sub-systems
• Aid in moving from verbal documented requirements to create - allocate - trace and transform to usecase and further development via SysML
• Define interfaces for the SysML models to port out to mathematical simulation tools for vehicle architecture study such as MATLAB, GT-Suite and others
• Create framework for executable use-case models which can be leveraged for detailing out the error states and safety aspects with inclusion of the simulation
• Support working with various teams for dissemination of best practices of MBSE for inter-disciplinary system development
• Train junior engineers on SysML flow and be an active catalyst for credible certifications from industry forums such as SAE, INCOSE etc.
QualificationsRequirement:
• Masters degree in Engineering (Mechatronics / Electronics / Mechanical). PhD preferred
• 10+ years of experience in MBSE based development in Automotive Systems
• Hands-on experience in Model Based Systems Engineering for Automotive products engineering.
• Shall have clear understanding of complete V&V cycle. INCOSE certification is a plus. Tools: Any of IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, Cameo, Integrity
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
• Team player with highly effective interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Innovative aptitude, offers creative solutions for technical problems
• Business acumen, Drive for results
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a hands-on laboratory environment
