Job Description

*

  • To assess the patients on admission.
  • To take detailed history and physically examine the patient.
  • To be responsible for sending the patient for the appropriate investigation as directed by the primary consultant and also to authorize investigations, which are urgent.
  • He/ she are to complete the in-patient rounds every day before 10.30, and fill the case sheets and progress notes without fail.
  • To be responsible for initiating treatment to the patient.
  • To ascertain that the necessary cross referrals have been made.
  • To communicate the opinion of other specialists to the primary consultant
  • To check the dosage, frequency, route of administrations of all medications, considering all precautions.
  • To take appropriate initiatives in medical emergencies when required.
  • To prepare the discharge summaries well in time and brief the patient about the medications on discharge.
  • To follow the hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
Academic
  • To attend all clinical meetings and workshops and actively participate in paper presentations
  • To be part of training programme conducted in the hospital and to take continuous initiatives for knowledge and skill up gradation.
Camps
  • To participate in Medical camps when required.
  • To attend to ward calls and emergencies day or night.
  • To participate and contribute to the departmental quality initiatives
  • To be aware of departments performance and objective
  • To carry out data collection / support in data collection
  • To adhere the safety norms of the hospital, follow both patient, and staff safety rules
  • To perform any task / job as and when assigned by the superior
