Job Description

*Competencies:

Job Responsibilities:
  • Initiates setting up of conventional ventilators and non-invasive ventilator of adult and pediatric type and wean them off the medical ventilation.
  • Provide oxygen therapy, which includes high flow, and low flow oxygen therapy.
  • Chest physiotherapy and clearance of tracheobronchial secretions to maintain potency of the artificial airway.
  • Bronchial hygiene therapy including aerosolized medication humidified medical gas therapy, steam inhalation, postural drainage, percussion, chest vibration, airway suctioning and artificial cough maneuvers.
  • Tracheostomy care.
  • Teach breathing exercises, manual as well as mechanical.
  • Assist the duty doctor in basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation for patients in ICU and elsewhere in the hospital on activation of crash call.
  • Perform endotracheal intubation and assist tracheostomy during emergencies.
  • Transport patients inter and intra hospital.
  • Performing Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and assessment PFT report.
  • Arterial blood gases sampling and interpretation.
  • Interpret chest x-ray and ECGs.
  • Assists in bronchoscopy.
