Job Description

As a Security Operations Analyst at Mediaocean you will be part of the Security Compliance organization with the objective of monitoring, identifying and remediating detected issues within Mediaocean s network and AWS cloud services. This role collaborates with other Information Security, Network Operations, IT Operations and Development organizations in order to maintain a secure environment.What to expect:

  • Daily review of security alert/logs with follow-up on suspicious activity
  • Perform investigation of network and hosts/endpoints for malicious activity, to potentially include analysis of packet captures
  • Incident Response experience including assisting and or leading efforts to detect, confirm, contain, remediate and recover from an incident
  • Proactively monitor, identify and analyze complex internal and external threats, including viruses, targeted attacks and unauthorized access
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues with existing security protocols
  • Maintain and improve standard operating procedures and processes
  • Responsibilities may include running vulnerability scans, managing security tools, and documenting workflows
  • Work with client facing stakeholders such as partners and vendors to help comply with information security requirements
  • Assist with educating and advising internal stakeholders on security best practices and architecture Knowledge, skills and abilities: Skillset would be a plus:
  • Security certification desired but not required.
  • Support security operations by automating data collection, analysis, and report generation using script language programming (Shell / Perl / Python / Ruby)
  • Ideal candidate will have 3 years of security related experience in areas such as intrusion detection, incident response/handling, Firewall administration, Security analytics, and vulnerability scanning
  • Experience with command line interface and some level of exposure to administering systems and services for various operating systems
  • Knowledge of security incident and event management, log analysis, malware investigation/remediation, SIEM correlation logic and alert generation
  • Experience working with vulnerability management solutions, program execution and management
  • Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and reporting (Rapid7, Qualys, Nessus, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, triage and remediate security incidents
  • Understanding of Security principles, techniques and technologies such as SANS Top 20 Critical Security Controls and OWASP Top 10
  • Exposure to AWS resources including: EC2, ECS, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Guard Duty, Inspector, Systems Manager, Config and CloudFront
  • Moderate knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Network Layers, etc.)
  • Moderate knowledge of malware operation and indicators
  • Moderate knowledge of current threat landscape (threat actors, APT, cyber-crime, etc.)
  • Moderate knowledge of security related technologies and their functions (DLP, IDS, IPS, EDR, IRP, FW, WAF, SIEM, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of audit requirements (PCI, SOX, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Bachelor s degree preferred; focus in computer science or a related technical field preferred.
