Job Description

In this role,you will contribute to the transformation of Philips to a customer-centric healthcare solutions provider, by shaping, deploying and applying Design for Availability (Serviceability, Reliability) best practices in businesses and key innovation projects.You are responsible for

  • Create a capability framework for System Availability (Serviceability, Reliability) Engineering together with a global team of experts
  • Deploy and drive these Serviceability and Reliability Engineering best practices globally across Philips via training & mentoring
  • Coach project leaders, system architects, and system engineers in key innovation programs to define and execute availability strategies and develop associated architectures
  • Lead and execute advanced model based system engineering (MBSE) activities to identify availability risks, e.g. systems operational and state modelling to identify failure modes as input to design FMEA, fault tree analysis
  • Define and lead data analysis activities to enable optimization for system availability, e.g. reliability modelling, prediction, time to diagnose, repair
  • Create architectures, including digital solutions for prognostic asset health management to be adopted by businesses
  • Liaise with other expert pools to shape world-class content to be leveraged throughout Philips
  • Identify improvement opportunities in Philips businesses and develop actionable proposals and plans to address these
You are a part ofThe Product Quality & Reliability team is part of the Philips Product Engineering function. It is a global group of more than 30 experts in all aspects of end-to-end Quality, Reliability and Serviceability engineering. All are active in designing in or improving reliability of complex, innovative products and processes for our customers from both internal Philips businesses as well as external companies, located all over the world.   • A Masters (MSc) degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
  • 15+ years of experience as a leading systems engineer or architect in a repairable systems business
  • A proven track record of applying Design for Serviceability and Reliability tools and techniques, e.g. Minitab, JMP, Reliasoft, R, SysML, FMEA, FTA, use case & functional modelling, Markov chains, Petri-nets
  • A Design for Six Sigma or DMAIC black belt qualification, or equivalent, in a system engineering environment
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, combined with a flexible and a hands-on mentality convert theory to practice
  • Excellent consultancy skills and the ability to connect with business stakeholders
  • A determination and proven ability to drive change
  • A passion for continuous learning in order to develop new and advanced capabilities
  • Your are willing to travel a substantial part of the job +/- 25%. Experience with working in a regulated environment is a pro.
