You will be building THE SaaS ERP that will change the way governments manage their personnel, assets, resources, finances, permits, licenses .and the list goes on.At OpenGov, we value each of our employees and make every attempt to ensure that you are properly supported as a developer and a person.ResponsibilitiesLearn Financials software workflowsWork with Domain Leads to develop backend programs in JavaDevelop static reports in Java applicationsApply needed changes to backend programs as prescribed by customers, program manager, or domain leadBuild new APIs from architected data modelsDocument code changesWork on conversions from legacy reporting and backend software to JavaWork on prescribed tasks and projectsProvide feedback on said tasks and projects assignedOffer up more efficient means of work within the software and in your positionWork in a collaborative team of engineersWork with QA in program testingKnow that your input is always valuedLove what you do and have fun doing itRequirements:Heavily experienced in coding in Java 8+Experience with modern JVM frameworksExposure to PHPUnderstanding of architecture specs and executing on themAbility to work in an evolving agile development environmentAble to learn new coding platformsA drive for code completion and delivering on timeSkills:Strong verbal and written communication skillsAble to manage time effectivelyConstantly striving to better yourself and others around youAble to problem solve quickly and accuratelyStrong software design and development knowledgeAble to properly design and produce structured APIs Ability to create, optimize, and evolve applicationsProduce code that is scalable, performant, and production readyBackground Qualifications:BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent5-7 years experience developing with Java Platform5-7 years experience in web based developmentNice To Haves:Knowledge of non-profit or government finance accountingERP development background in one or more of the following domains: Core Financials (e.g. General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable), Payroll, HR, Utility BillingKnowledge of platform constructs such as Authentication, Authorization (Access Controls), and Audit LoggingExtensive knowledge of PHPKnowledge of GitKnowledge of microservice development with JavaSolid understanding of AWS concepts (EC2, Lambdas, etc)Understanding of DockerWhat makes OpenGov unique Leadership: CEO Zac Bookman (MPA from Harvard and JD from Yale) is truly a mission-driven CEO.
