We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team one that makes better decisions, drives innovation and delivers better business results.Job TitleSenior Database Engineer Overview tDatabase Engineering (DE) supports MasterCard Business Systems and Operations across the globe tAs part of the Tech Ops Database Domain groups DE drives the database engineering practice , governance and standards in MasterCard tAs a Consultant for Database Domain, you should have a range of knowledge and skills to deploy and manage various database technologies in production environments tHave you worked in global teams across differing geographies tAre you interested in leading a high-functioning Engineering team Role tManaging wide variety databases, particularly must be highly experienced in database backup and recovery, performance tuning, and high availability configuration. tWork with service deliver DBAs and application development software to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. tCreate models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones. tRespond to and resolve database access and performance issues. tMonitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements. tDesign and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets. tMonitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems. tPlan and coordinate data migrations between systems. tDevelop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases. tDatabase Technologies Include (not limited to) : Oracle, MS-SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDB, Redis. The ideal candidate should have experience in more than one database technologyExperience :- Overall 6+ years of experience and 3+ years relevent experience in Postgres.All About You Highly knowledgeable of Postgresql architecture and Internals Excellent trouble shooting skills in Postgres Proficient with Postgresql installation and configuration, particularly Postgresql Plus Advanced Server from EnterpriseDB Proficient with Postgresql monitoring and alerting tools/processes specifically PEM from EnterpriseDB, Proficient in setup, configuration and monitoring of Postgresql binary and logical data replication solutions (binary streaming, Bucardo, Londiste, Slony etc .,.) Proficient with collecting diagnostics and tuning Postgresql as well as SQL tuning Proficient with Postgresql prodecdural languages (PL/pgSQL, PL/Tcl, PL/Perl, PL/Python) and SQL Proficient with Linux (RedHat) Working knowledge with Data Modelling. Working knowledge in Any of the NO-SQL (mongo,redis,cassandra) or Oracle,MSSQL . Working knowledge of scripting languages, Bash,KSH, perl etc Strong working knowledge of databases with relevant certifications Good understanding of security standards and best practices In-depth knowledge of database management (Installation, creation of new instances, space management , database reorganization, backup and recovery, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, identification of bottlenecks in locks, waits , Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience. Deep knowledge of software development processes including agile processes and test driven developmen Experience with data analysis Experience in architecture and providing technical leadership to large and complex systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent trouble shooting skills.COVID-19 Considerations We value the safety of each member of our community because we know we re all in this together.
