Job Description

*DescriptionLooking for a candidate with strong experience Embedded Security assessment (secure design and security testing) and is keen on exploring new techniques to secure Emerson products.Principal Functional Responsibilities

  • Assesses design and implementation for weaknesses and vulnerabilities and helps Developers to improve them through design threat modelling and advise Security Controls tobe implemented.
  • Participate and Perform Secure code reviews through use of Static Analysis Tool and other methods.
  • Perform Vulnerability Analysis and Penetration testing of embedded products.
  • Perform firmware code reverse engineering and device security hardening.
  • Perform protocol fuzz Testing of industrial communication protocol: Modbus, WirelessHART, PROFINET, Ethernet IP, BLE, etc.
  • Guide development team across development cycle to strengthen security.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues in your area of expertise.

  • Experience / Skills
oPrimary Qualifications:
    • Strong knowledge of embedded system: Micro controller and its peripherals, RTOS, Linux, memory and HSM (Hardware Security Module).
    • Good understanding of Secure Development Lifecycle.
    • Experience in secure C/C++ code review and use of Static Analysis tools.
    • Understanding of secure libraries (e.g. bootloader etc.).
    • Experience in Vulnerability Analysis and Penetration testing of TCP/IP supported embedded products.
    • Experience in Fuzz Testing of industrial communication protocol like WiFi / BLE / WirelessHART / PROFINET/ MODBUS / Ethernet IP/ OPC UA/ HART /FF.
    • Experience in firmware reverse engineering and device security hardening.
    • Strong understanding of security protocols (HTTPS, HSTS, TLS, SSH) and interfaces like UART, SPI, I2C, JTAG.
    • Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
    • Proven verbal and written communications skills to work effectively at all levels of an organization.
oSecondary Qualifications:
    • Good understanding of TCP/IP, UDP.
    • Basic understanding of cryptographic primitives function, encryption and processing
    • Excellent Knowledge of scripting language (TCL, Perl, Python, Shell etc.) for exploit development.
    • Exposure to open source solutions for Root of trust like HSM, TPM, and TEE.
    • Experience with authentication and authorization systems.
    • Experience with Wireshark tool.
    • Possess collaboration skills and experience of working with internal/external partner.
  • Education:
    • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer / Electronics Engineering or related field with 4-7 years of relevant experience.
    • Cybersecurity Certification preferred
