Your essential responsibilities include: Serves as a technical lead and/or project lead for capability development for digital product developmentDeveloping ML based requirements validation models based on historical data of chosen product line and critical-to-quality parametersHistorical design data digitization methods development, feature classification and data preparation for ML model developmentDeveloping ML based models using digitized historical design data and synthetic design data (generated using simulation methods)Using ML based methods for concept selection from historical design based on new requirementsDeveloping parametric design optimization models (reduced order models) using digital design data and deploymentBrief usage of simulation tools such as structural analysis, dynamics and thermal for synthetic data generation as per the ML model development needKnowledge of physics based shape / topology optimization methods using commercial toolsExposure of AI driven generative design methods for organic shapes and its commercial tools for multi-disciplinary requirementsEstablish connect with Local and Global Eaton IT for standard best practices / processesEstablish connect with external standard commercial software providers to seek support and solutions pertaining to digital product development, physics driven optimization (topology / generative design)Contributes to the value proposition development for technical projects and programsParticipates in internal open innovation events with businesses & other research groupsDevelops as a subject matter expert through relevant trainings and participation in relevant industry events - network and stay contemporary on topics in their fieldGets trained on internal systems & processes and implements them towards projectsExplore advances in digital design technologies and evaluate their suitability for Eaton products.Works collaboratively with digital design team globally to advance the technologyQualifications
• Master s Degree (ME) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Computer Science
• 4+ years industrial experience working with digital product design (ML based) and physics based optimization (generative / topology)
• Experience in developing and deploying ML based methods for product requirements validation, design selection and optimization
• Experience digitizing design information such as 2D drawings and 3D models either using commercial solutions or local developments
• Demonstrated experience in ML model development, model selection, model training / validation
• Brief experience working with general purpose simulation tools such as ANSYS and Abaqus
• Proficiency in programming languages - Python, R, VBA
• Experience working with generative / topology optimization solutions for multi-disciplinary requirements
• Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Self-motivated; Passionate to bring own ideas to applications.
• Networking ability across organization to understand critical business problems that require materials and manufacturing based solutions
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Good interpersonal skills - flexibility to adapt to persons with different geographical, ethnic, educational backgrounds.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills while handling multiple projects
