This full stack team is responsible for building, delivering and operating OpenGov s Citizen Services Suite .As a Senior Fullstack Engineer at OpenGov, youll build best-in-class SaaS solutions that enable efficiency, transparency, and accountability within government agencies. Youll be a key member of our engineering team, delivering new features and improvements in a fast-paced, agile environment using modern technologies, including EmberJS, React, Redux, and TypeScript, with occasional service development in Node.js.We value natural self-starters with the ability to communicate ideas effectively and contribute to OpenGovs culture of respect, dedication, and fun.What you will make happenShip key features for our Citizen Services Suite including Permitting, Licensing, and Code Enforcement product lineUse and contribute to our standards and component library and design systemProduce reusable and readable code and librariesDevelop new features and improve existing codeImprove the usability of our employee and citizen-facing applicationsWrite unit and integration tests to improve and maintain high code coverageWork with local and remote engineers on a regionally distributed teamHelp deploy and operate the software owned by the teamParticipate in an on-call rotation to help resolve issues and improve monitoring and alertingYou get excited byOptimizing applications for speed and scalability and resolving a variety of unique technical challenges.Collaborating with product, UX, and back-end engineersPassion for good component design and solid application architectureNavigating the troubled seas of browser compatibilityProblem-solving and troubleshooting unique challengesClean code, principles over dogma, and making the world a little better everydayQualificationsBachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field8+ years professional experience in software development3+ years of professional experience in front end engineering roles3+ years professional experience using Git or another popular VCS2+ years professional experience with EmberJS or other contemporary frameworks2+ years professional experience with Ruby on Rails or other MVC frameworksExperience with ActiveRecord or other ORM frameworksStrong understanding of functional programming fundamentalsNice to haveExperience with AWS, Docker, KubernetesExperience using Javascript data visualization librariesFamiliarity with CI/CD PipelinesFunctional programming experienceProfessional experience with Node.js servicesWhat makes OpenGov unique Leadership: CEO Zac Bookman (MPA from Harvard and JD from Yale) is truly a mission-driven CEO.
