Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Work in our HA/Failover Management team, designing, developing our next generation failover management software.
  • Be part of a team that owns all phases of the product development life cycle, from conception to delivery to customers, including support/operation if required.
  • Build quality and security directly into the product, by taking advantage of automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across the world, mentor, share information with and learn from other engineers and help drive continuous improvement of our platform, without losing focus on the flow that generates customers value.
  • Bring an inquisitive, innovative & collegiate attitude to problem solving.
Requirements
  • 6+ years experience in software development
  • 3+ years experience in a Go engineering position
  • Written non-trivial Go apps, deployed to solve real word, mission-critical problems
  • Familiarity with HAProxy, Envoy or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with consensus tools (etcd, consul, zoo keeper etc)
  • Experienced in CI/CD development process
Good to have:
  • Understanding of the Postgres ecosystem, used/managed Postgres
  • Can talk with confidence around the trade offs CAP theorem describes and the approaches of various consensus algorithms (Raft, Paxos etc)
  • Modern software development tools & architectures
  • Understand, and ideally have used, tools such as Jepsen or Chaos Monkey to test systems under realistic failure conditions
  • Experience in a TDD environment, and the experience to know when testing is sufficient
  • Have worked in a you build it you run it environment, familiarity with dealing with customer situations
  • Involvement in OSS communities (not just Postgres, though thats a double plus!)
