Job Description

  1. Setup/configuration/support of SQL Server 2008,2012,2014 in clustered and non-clustered environments
  2. Experience configuring all components of MSSQL (SSRS,SSIS,log shipping, Database Snapshots)
  3. troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues,security issues etc.
  4. Should have knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
  5. Should have knowledge about Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  6. Should be able to identify and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU,memory,I/O, disk space and other resource issues on database
  7. Should have knowledge about windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components.
  8. knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.
  9. Implementing SQL Server security and Objectpermissions like maintaining Database authentication modes, creation of users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users.
  10. Should be aware of capacity planning ,Database sizing and Database growth projections
  11. Create and delete database, backing up and restoring database, deploying packages, database access issue and database security, installing/upgrading SQL Server Management tool, creating linked server, shrinking the files, moving data/log files to other drive, SQLconnectivity issues, database availability issues, SQL jobs failure issues, checking SQL Server error logs, configuring DB mail, etc.
  12. Should be aware about High Availability and Disaster Recovery Options for SQLserver
  13. Knowledge of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, SSMS, PerfMon, DMVs, system sprocs)
