Job Description

Software Senior Principal EngineerJoin us as a Software Senior Principal Engineer on our Engineering development team in Pune to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.Data Protection Division works towards Protecting Enterprise level Customer data against Data Loss / Data Unavailability. This unit is responsible for providing Data Protection Solution (acorss On-Prem, Public Cloud, Hybrid Cloud) that ensures Enterprise Policy Driven / On demand Data Backup and Restore. Be it physical servers, VMs, Applications, Filesystems, DBs all are protected with consistency.What you ll achieveThis position is for the Data Management Division s PowerProtect Data Manager product and needs skills and experience of delivering solutions with high standards for the quality.Were developing the next generation Data Protection software, built on top of state-of-the-art technology stack. Youll be working with developing a technology/product for the business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) use case, using replication technology at the heart of it.We work in large scale agile methodologies with the teams spread over the globe. Each scrum team has ownership of the component and works with the rest of the teams to deliver new exciting features.You Will:

  • Understanding and articulation of complex systems
  • Proven hands-on experience on multiple projects
  • Ability to write design document which are easy for the team to understand and execute
  • Ability to present at various forums on product architecture and representing team
  • Active stakeholder in the Triad PM, Engineering Manager & Architect
    • Define vision for the product
    • help to prioritize features, technical debts, customer ask for the team.

Work Experience and Education
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science
  • 14+ years of hands on experience in coding
  • At least 5+ years of experience in architecting end-to-end product at enterprise level involving data path.
Essential Requirements:
  • Experience in programming and coding with C++
  • Experience in Data structure and Algorithms.
  • Experience in Data Path is a must.
  • Experience in Design Patterns.
  • Experience in mutithreaded programming and OS internals.
  • Experience in virtualization with vmware ESxi.
  • Experience in perl and python scripting.
  • Experience for Unix, Linux commands.
  • Experience in debugging on gdb or wngdb.
  • Experience of working with Distributed System.
  • Must have factor of customer empathy and efficient communication skill.
  • Must have worked with Agile methodology and be the role model for the team to follow agile principals.
  • Working experience with Java based technology to understand end-to-end system architecture
Desired Competencies
  • Experience in writing Unit Tests
  • Knowledge of storage domain or data protection domain.
