The diversity and breadth of the entire IBM portfolio of research, consulting, solutions, services, systems and software, uniquely distinguishes IBM India from other companies in the industry.Business Unit IntroductionThe IBM Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization spans several functional areas such as procurement, manufacturing, demand-supply planning, manufacturing engineering, logistics, customer fulfillment, accounts receivable collection and sales transaction support.Who you areSoftware Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for processing Requests received in the Order Management (OM) queues, for the Procurement of hardware, software and/or services. This includes reviewing requests for accuracy/completeness, processing requisitions into the appropriate procurement tools, updating the designated request tool with information related to the procurement of these requested items, tracking the order through delivery and providing on-going status.What youll do

  • You will validate and map all Software distributed entitlement data to standard product names
  • Receiving and formatting ongoing software licenses acquisition/discontinuance information (including software Proof of License) from product acquisition groups in regions
  • Performing discrepancy closures in Software reconciliation tool, based on data validation and resolution decisions from Account Deliver Program Managers.
  • Amending software license baseline for software product changes to the contract software list
  • Comparing software licensed information to software installed information to identify variances
  • Obtain and resolve required information about vendor name changes
  • Identifying and initiating the required purchases/discontinuances to correct the variances
  • Producing and distributing the contracted Software License Management reports

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • 2 to 5 years of SAM (Software Asset Management) (or) Order Management domain work experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills like navigation, formatting, copy/paste, formula along with macros
  • Proven data analytical skills
  • Knowledge of the Information System environment, including both Hardware and Software.
  • Proven results in software cost avoidance/savings
  • Proven communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
  • General understanding of industry standards for Software Vendors, and Software Contract Terms and Conditions (Ts and Cs)
  • Experience in Supply Chain Business Systems - Software (SW) License/Procurement/Order Management
  • Ability to operate standard IBM intranet tools
