Job Description

    Helpshift enables companies to provide a seamless customer support experience to a mobile consumer base. We are installed on over 2 Billion devices - 1 out of every 3 smartphones in the world - and serve over 820 Million active users every month. Our platform enables ~7 Million conversations every month. You will help us build features that impact these conversations and bring immense value to the consumer. Some numbers which illustrate our scale:85k Requests per second@30 ms Response time~300GB data transfer every hour1000+ VMs deployed at peakAbout the teamYou will be part of the Self Serve Experience team which is responsible for enabling brands to serve their customers with minimal intervention from agents. We are innovating in the Help Center space by integrating with different parts of our product like bots to boost up the self-serve capability. You will get a chance to work with a highly technical and a fun team of engineers to solve challenging problems. We are also innovating in this space to make content smarter and dynamic.What you will do in this role
    • Work with the rest of the team in developing product features that get delivered to ~ 0.8B monthly active users.
    • Write clean code with proper test coverage.
    • Implement features that can scale to 100K+ RPS.
    • Display strong work ethics. Be a team player with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.
    • Keep calm and learn everyday.
    Skills and Experience we expect
      • 1-3 years of medium/large scale server-side software development experience.
      • Thorough knowledge of CS fundamentals: Data structures, time complexity of algorithms.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Proficient in one (any) programming language. Preferred (but not necessary) languages: Clojure, Python, any functional programming language.
      • Comfortable using CLI tools for achieving day-to-day tasks. (we develop on Mac OS X and deploy on GNU/Linux).
      • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
    • Nice to Have
    • Experience in working with a distributed version control tool. (We use Git)
    Projects you may work on
    • Work on improving the Help Center and extend its capability across different platforms
    • Design and build an efficient workflow of article management and public facing APIs
