We can t wait for you to discover this for yourself as a Principal Engineer on our Data Protection team in Pune.This position is for the Data Protection Software Division s Data Protection Advisor product and needs skills and experience of delivering solutions with high standards for the quality. Data Protection Advisor improves recovery confidence and manages service levels with powerful data protection management capabilities. With Data Protection Advisor, customers can unify and automate monitoring, analysis and reporting across backup and recovery environments while reducing complexity, lowering costs, and eliminating manual efforts.Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise by independently determining and developing approaches to solutions for a wide range of complex software engineering problems. Assignments may include new products as well as upgrades, and enhancements or fixes to existing products.
  • Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information.
  • Offers proposed design changes/suggestions to processes and products, exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of an assignment.
  • Interacts cross functionally on matters that require coordination across functional/organizational lines.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives, without appreciable direction.
  • Understands and adheres to cost/delivery/quality targets established during the program design phase.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional and/or global teams, readily shares information with others.
Work Experience and Education
  • Higher education, Computer Science
  • 10+ years of hands on experience in coding in which minimum 2+ years of experience in leading engineers technically.
Required Competencies
  • Experience with requirements clarification and capturing, work planning, documenting solution design, development tasks decomposition and tracking.
  • Proven hands-on experience in developing secure and enterprise applications in C
  • Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for components using C.
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts.
  • Knowledge of developing and using REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of Linux (advanced user).
  • Knowledge of version control, bug tracking systems (SVN, Git, JIRA).
  • General knowledge and application of engineering concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of business environment.
  • Ability to analyze information and draw accurate conclusions.
  • Time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
