Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for determining client area application systemsrequirements for new or modified application programs, the preparation ofsystem specifications, and the development, testing and implementation ofefficient, cost effective application solutions. Receives general directionfrom the Manager. Has heavy hands- on coding / testing duties, and may have somesupervisory duties in instructing, assigning, directing and checking the workof other Systems Analyst/ Programmers. Assists in planning, organizing, andcontrolling technical related projects in the section. May work with managementto identify and specify complex business requirements and processes for diversedevelopment platforms, computing environments, software, hardware, technologiesand tools. Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phasesof the development and implementation process. May coordinate the activities ofthe section with the client area and other IT sections (e. g. data base, telecommunications, operations, technical support). To perform this jobsuccessfully an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of theknowledge, skill, and/ or ability required. Associates will be evaluated, inpart, based on performance of each essential function. QualificationsA Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline withan advanced degree and at least five years, of systems analysis and programdevelopment experience with some supervisory, management and administrativeexperience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the securities industry or financial services industry. Knowledgeof securities industry or financial services experience. Sound knowledge of theclient area s function and systems. In- depth knowledge of system and technologyalternatives. Broad knowledge of the system development life cycle. Technical, hands- on knowledge of various high- level programming languages and programdevelopment software alternatives. Effective managerial and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem solving, decision- making, and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with ITmanagement and staffs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
