Job Description

A Senior Technical Writer at the OMS division of Sungard AS will be part of Documentation team that creates process and customer facing documentation for tools and portals. Products supported include Viewpoint portal, ServiceNow, Virtual Command Center, MRP, Recovery execution systems for managed/recovery services, and HPSA/HPNA/HPOO.Key Responsibilities1.Individual contributor role and will be responsible for content authoring using MS Word, Atlassian Confluence and Adobe RoboHelp for publishing release documentation, Installation Manuals, Help sections, and tutorials.2.Will proactively attend design sessions, project planning meetings, daily scrum calls, and gather requirements and lock down documentation scope with the identified stakeholers and subject matter experts.3. Will coordinate and collaborate content gathering, screen shots, and setup preview sessions with development teams, customer experience teams, and stakeholders for the content scope sign-off process.4. Ensure quality in the deliverables by following incremental delivery model and Agile processes and tools like bitbucket and Jira.5. Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability and eliminate redundancy with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.6. Develop and maintain detailed databases of appropriate reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications for both product (system and user) and process documentation.Technical Competencies (Experience and Knowledge)1. Hands on Experience in Producing high quality Online Help/User Guide/Quick Ref Guide/Release Notes2. Hand on Experience in Robohelp SnagIT,3. Experience on Camtasia tool4. 10 plus years of technical writing experience.5. Should be aware of the content management processes and standards (Authoring, Approval, and Publishing).6. JIRA/SharePoint working knowledge is required.7. Experience of working in CI/CD environment and exposure of working in demanding schedules (authoring documents of different product lines simultaneously).8. Domain: Telecom/Networking/ITSM/Cloud domain knowledge preferred.9 Self-motivated to collaborate with SMEs in order to acquire knowledge about specialized/complex topics and likewise document them QUICKLY for different types of audiences.10. Tools: Working knowledge on MS Word, Robohelp, SnagIT, and Camtasia is highly desired.11. Experience of working in Agile environment.Skills and Behavioral Competencies1.
