Job Description

  • Maintains monitoring of network infrastructure, including alert configuration, new device provisioning and general day to day functioning of the monitoring tool set.
  • Analyzes performance data and metrics, identifies problem areas and provides actionable insight to problem resolution.
  • Opens and owns all trouble cases with telecommunications providers; trouble cases include not just circuit down instances but also includes performance related violations (high latency, etc.).
  • Drives issues through closure engaging all appropriate cross-team resources.
  • Performs complex and routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering; identifies, isolates, and escalates issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Publishes operational reporting of metrics around end user experience and network availability, based on management requirements.
  • Contributes to organization success.
  • Keep management, other team members and other departmental employees aware of obstacles and status changes in a timely manner.
  • Use proper judgment to determine when such communication is necessary.
  • Consider the need for other team members to support their areas of responsibility and openly shares an understanding of these areas. Work with manager to proactively seek opportunities to improve skills and knowledge through training opportunities.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Consistently interact professionally and work proactively with all levels of Medline employees. Follow Medlines Code of Ethics and other corporate policies.

Requirements
  • Has fundamental knowledge of networking equipment (routers, switches), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), wireless technologies (channels, SNR).
  • 5 year prior sound experience with supporting and maintaining LAN/WAN network architectures.
  • Basic Administration of Cisco Call Manager.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools, i.e. Whats Up, Solar Winds, Scrutinizer and LiveAction
  • Familiar with diverse manufacturers of network equipment; Cisco, F5 and Checkpoint.
  • Has a general understanding of the Windows server environment, including installation and configuration.
  • College degree and Cisco Certification (CCNA/CCNP) preferred.
  • Fluent English communication. Prior experience with US clients is an added advantage.
  • Willing to work in shifts.
