Job Description

  • This position will serve as a member of a highly skilled team of IT professionals located in Varian s Pune, India office chartered with deploying and maintaining Varian s new line of Cloud Native Service Offerings.
  • Partnering with the Platform team, the individual will establish deep expertise in deployment architecture and technologies used in Varian s cloud native infrastructure, security, middleware and monitoring platforms.
  • The individual will leverage this expertise to improve the 24x7 support responsibilities and processes in Varian s operations team.
  • This role requires proficiency in production operations of cloud hosted infrastructure and applications, variety of observability technologies, including uptime and performance monitoring and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with Platform Engineering team to ensure 24x7 reliability, availability, and maintainability of Cloud offerings.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Developing tools processes to ensure optimal performance and reduce toil associated with solutions.
  • Drive the development of monitoring dashboards and alerting.
  • Build automation to manage and monitor infrastructure services and applications
  • Ensure and improve the reliability, availability and performance of infrastructure and infrastructure-related applications
  • Investigate new ways to improve operations and define new solutions to solve technically complex systems issues
  • Dive deep into service interdependencies and region-specific configurations to find the root of a problem
  • Serve as SME and escalation point for critical incidents.
  • Execute Problem Management and Continuous Improvement.
  • Release, Change and Configuration Management
  • Development of Monitoring Observability practices for platform performance and security.
  • Develop automations aimed as removing toil from traditional NOC activities.
  • On-going production operations of Azure hosted infrastructure and applications.
  • Proactively communicate collaboration with cross functional groups related to work at hand
  • Collaborate with Global Regions (and possibly direct customers) related to connectivity to Cloud.

Qualifications

Technical

  • Expertise in the implementation, management, and support of Azure cloud infrastructure and application monitoring required (Certification preferred))
  • 5- 7 Years Practical experience with modern scripting languages required (PowerShell preferred)
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code required (Terraform preferred)
  • Expertise with application monitoring tools - AppInsights, Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking - DNS, VPN, Firewalls, etc.
  • Experience with a DevOps delivery model for infrastructure, applications, and configuration.
  • Software development experience (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL Framework

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across a variety of technologies.
  • Superior written and oral presentation and communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Strong Analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access as required by local laws.
  • Meet customer-specific credentialing requirements which may vary by client and may include, but are not limited to: Proof of valid identification (photo, driver s license, SSN), Criminal background checks, Drug screens, Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus), Annual TB testing, Healthcare training
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
