Job Description

Job Family Descriptor

  • Telecommunication experience in Fiber Network Planning & Engineering. Design of Copper and Fiber networks. Professional/Technical Experience Solid background and working experience in Fiber/Copper planning and engineering, both in backhaul and FTTx.
  • Thorough understanding of access network design principles, industry standards and installation practices.
  • Planning Designing of fiber connectivity for GPON FTTx/FTTp Optical distribution networks to provide services to customer.
  • Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies.
  • Pricing and BOQs
  • Drafting and GIS analysis concepts (Deployment of fiber for GPON project aerial as well as underground)
  • Fibre Feasibility, Fibre Planning, GPON, FTTx, WDM/CWDM, SAP, Cost Analysis & calculations.
  • Good understanding of Fiber planning with last-mile equipment (SDH/MEN/Media Converter/Optical Modem) for enterprise customer in NLD/Metro access.
  • Adequate knowledge in GIS tools & application like IMAGE, Spatial NET, Arc GIS, Small World.
  • Good technical skills on Telecom Fiber/Copper Network Planning and Engineering
  • Ensure Enterprise & Retail Service Delivery which includes MPLS, VPN, PRI, Leased Line, Centrex, POTS, BIA, etc.
  • Solid experience in the design and delivery of fixed passive telecommunication access networks FTTH.
  • Knowledge of geographic information systems and network databases of record as they apply to telecommunications network.
  • Identify any related projects and networks created that will support the build detailed in the current tactical plan (Network Management Systems, Feeder/Transport Fibre Builds, etc.)

  • Lead a team of 100+ engineers including and coaching and skill development responsibilities, excellent resource management.
  • Maintain excellent connect with the client and internal stakeholders
  • SLA/KPI achievements, quality targets achievements.
  • Drive automation and Business excellence initiative within team.
  • Present, lead monthly business call and business opportunities.
  • To be a Fiber Engineering & Design expert who can carry out all engineering Design requirements of the project and provide the cost estimation for outside plant build with the Customers engineering requirements, Engineering guidelines and standard practices and use of GIS Inventories
  • Creation of Cost Estimation report with material details and cost break up for OSP build.
  • Analyze the requirements of the job to determine what steps need to be taken and create a workflow.
  • Provide project coordination for network and non-network related jobsCoordination with Engineering as well as Outside Plant Access Technicians
  • Interface with and respond to internal and external parties
