Job Description

  • To lead multiple component teams in the delivery of hardware and software releases for one or more API Platforms and products across the end-to-end software and hardware development lifecycle through the use of internal & 3rd party resources.
  • To build and maintain good client relationships, working closely with project managers to ensure effective delivery within the required project timescales and budget.
  • To build and maintain good stakeholder relationships in line with stakeholder map.
What will you be doing Release Management (70%)
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the design, development, testing and deployment of API platforms.
  • Coordinate the demands of a number of projects into one delivery plan.
  • Responsible for scoping, planning, budgeting and forecasting of a release
  • Responsible for managing releases to approved budgets and commitments
  • Liaise with project managers to identify and engage the right resources needed to ensure the success of project(s) and /or release(s).
  • Maintain an aggregate view of demand to assist project manager(s) in controlling projects and reporting progress, providing input from a technology perspective.
  • Ensure that all governance, risk policies, procedures and compliance policies are adhered to.
  • Work closely with the assigned lead engineer(s) to deliver technical strategies for the application components and ensure that change projects are designed and implemented using best practice
  • To maintain a resource forecast that matches the aggregate demand profile.
  • Assist Product Development Manager in Supply & Demand and Risk Management for a product.
Delivery and Supplier Management (10%)
  • Manage all resources (designers, developers, engineers, testers, etc.) across; Infrastructure / Security / application / product, optimising the use of other Barclays and any third party suppliers as required.
  • Follow the appropriate resourcing model to help deliver on cost targets
  • Ensure the effective development of robust, effective platform / application / product changes for all projects
  • Manage aggregate change control and configuration management for any hardware / application / product releases. Recommend appropriate way forward to key stakeholders based on outcome of impact assessments.
Transition into Run / Production (20%)
  • Collaborate with the application support / service teams to ensure smooth transition of hardware and applications into their BAU environments.
  • Manage the successful delivery of hardware / application / product releases into the production environment.
  • Ensure that all release-related service incidents are resolved during delivery and warranty periods.
  • Identify own development needs and proactively drive development of own capability, using all available means, to achieve world class standards.
What we re looking for:
  • Track record of driving through change across multiple component teams and with multiple business stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of delivery and release management disciplines, frameworks and techniques
  • Highly structured and organised with experience of delivering the key artefacts of project governance including regular reporting
  • Successful stakeholder management internal and external, and across different organisation units
  • Ability to use general office software tools including spread sheets, presentation tools, word processing and process flow mapping
