Job Description

Major DutiesPeople managementConducting regular one to one meetings to provide timely feedback to all the Direct Reports.Conducting performance appraisals.Team motivation and engagement.Should be responsible for work allocation to the team members.Guiding the team members in their career growth.Ensuring all team member s concerns are addresses on a timely manner.Appropriate planning of time-offs for the team.Should be able to generate efficiencies within the team and effective utilization of resources.Process ManagementThe process involves reconciliation of transactions, security positions and cash activities. Account type includes but not limited to:EquityFixed IncomeOTC products like swaps, CFDs etc.Derivative products like futures and options etc.Bank, etc.Taking ownership for all the deliverables being sent out by the team with proper review checks.Ensuring back-ups are in place for a smoother process flow in case of absences in the team.Cross training the team on all the activities in order to ensure business continuity.Analyse security and cash positions to identify discrepancies between customer s positions and counter party with good troubleshooting skills.Should have the ability to maintain various MIS reports and should ensure timely completion of all the MIS and other ad-hoc reports to be submitted to management.Liaising effectively with team members, internal groups and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.Should be able to handle critical queries/issues and escalate on a timely manner.Ensuring deliverables are adhered to as per agreed SLAs by helping team members in resolving their queries and issues.Daily reviews to ensure the process is in adherence with SOPs and the same are updated as required.Should be capable of adding and reviewing various control checks.Understand and minimize risks associated with breaks and trade mismatches.Understanding the settlement of cash flows associated with various financial instruments.Issue escalation and resolution on a timely manner.Respond quickly and accurately to queries in a high volume, time sensitive trading environment.Prioritize time accordingly to action trade breaks by timelines.Developing action plans for resolution of outstanding issues.Ability to work on ad-hoc activities.AccountabilitiesEmployees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above roleEmployees are expected to exercise due care and diligence, ensuring the areas the incumbent is responsible for are organised and controlledEmployees are required to observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in the execution of dutiesReports to Section ManagerSkillsBe able to mentor through confidence and approachabilityGood analytical, numerical and reasoning skillsTime management and delegation skillsApproachable and able to promote teamwork through creative solutionsSelf-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment.Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel & Word)Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write business correspondence.Ability to work effectively as a teamAbility to evaluate priority and multi-task with minimal supervision.Qualifications:Minimum 24 months experience as a AC/ TC in current roleBachelor s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Master degree a plusMinimum 7-8 years of work experience in financial industry with at least 3 years in reconciliations related activities, prior people management exposure will be given preference.Experience with Hedge Funds, Investment Management and/or Financial Services strongly preferredKnowledge of accounting principles and procedures, familiarity with financial markets and instruments.Should be flexible for shifts and extended working hours.,
