Job Description

Technical Data StewardThe Red Hat Enterprise Data and Analytics team is looking for a Technical Data Steward to join us in Pune, India. In this role, youll join the Data Governance Office and Policy team that is responsible for managing the tools, systems, processes, and data that makes Red Hat more efficient, effective, and data-driven with the use of third-party data from providers likeDun & Bradstreet (D&B), Standard & Poors, or Forbes. You will develop queries and reports, and deliver analysis on the status and usage of third-party data assets. Youll also work closely with the Customer Data Domain Manager, Information Management teams, and other internal teams to measure and optimize third-party strategic programs. Primary job responsibilities

  • Understand use cases for utilizing third party data like D&B firmographics or S&P Sales Revenue models
  • Conduct strategic assessment on third-party vendors and provide recommendations for future purchase and usage
  • Communicate new data elements, changes in data structures or data quality issues, and generally inform downstream consumers of impacts of third-party data
  • Schedule and manage multiple ETL processes for third-party data
  • Analyze and identify issues and errors within third-party data
  • Coordinate with Data Quality team to ensure consistent delivery and quality of third-party data
  • Create reports and metrics on the status of third-party data sources
  • Work with Data Catalog team to document data flows and lineage for third-party data
  • Update internal documentation via Informatica Axon, Google Workspace Tools, and local intranet
  • Consult with stakeholders to inform strategy, define how reports and analytics can be enhanced with third-party data content, and work with Business teams and IT to implement changes and enhancements
  • Identify new third-party data needs to develop high-value, actionable reporting aimed at answering key business questions
  • Help to define the roadmap and strategy for third party data acquisition and consumption
  • Collaborate with reporting specialists and analysts to increase adoption of third-party data
  • Present dashboards and ad hoc analyses to key stakeholders in order to increase adoption
  • Understand of KPIs and business drivers of third-party data within Red Hat
  • Enable self-service reporting through development and training of standard reports and dashboards
  • Advise on the usage of third-party data, including limitations, interpretations, and usage recommendations
  • Report on value statements and evangelize consolidation of third party data across the enterprise
  • Maintain the integrity of third-party data through the delivery of validated, accurate reports
  • Streamline and enhance logic for identifying data paths
  • Design and manage reports, analyses, forecasts, and dashboards
Required skills
  • Bachelors degree in computer science
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in data migration, analysis, and data ETL
  • Experience with business productivity tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Lucidchart, and other similar systems or tools
  • Proficient in SQL, HTML, and Google Apps Scripts
  • Good spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large data sets and performing analysis
  • Creative presentation skills for packaging analytics in a simple and actionable way
  • Good communication skills to share and present analyses with internal teams and leadership
