Job Description

Leading a team of CAD designers for mechanical system design for HVAC product development and delivery. Must understand the mechanical and structural design requirement for HVAC equipment like Air Handling Units (AHU), VRF, PAC, RAC, RTU etc. Responsible for systems design and develop complete HVAC products based on design requirements and meeting standards, review, verification and validation. This position requires the ability to work under minimal direction in collaboration with global teams to design and develop robust system solutions that meet defined system requirements.How you will do it

  • Understand the mechanical design requirement for HVAC equipment like Air Handling Units (AHU), PAC, RTU and overall project scope.
  • Provides work estimates; plans and controls design and delivery of the project to meet objectives for project/system standards, quality, reliability and performance.
  • Responsible for all aspects of mechanical design requirements of AHU, RTU, PAC.
  • Analysis and evaluating engineering designs, review drawings, preparing Bill of material, verification and validation.
  • Work with value engineering and CAD design team for 3D Modelling.
  • Work with SAP or any ERP systems for BOM creation and engineering changes.
  • Understand and follow the product development process.
  • Work in coordination with project lead, product design team and overseas client.
  • Coordinate with overseas client to understand design requirement and guide the team for execution.
  • Ensuring quality and timely design release of the mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with production team for necessary product changes and timely implementation.
  • Travelling onsite for prototype testing and coordination if required.
  • Training and technical mentoring of the team
What we look for
  • BE/B.Tech/M.Tech- Mechanical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in Mechanical system design and development in HVAC products
  • Value Engineering, problem solving techniques
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, packaging, design and sheet metal manufacturing
  • Exposure to project management techniques
  • Gather project data for effort, schedule, defect and cost for measurement against agreed plan and report variances if any
  • Conduct RCAs to devise corrective action plans and track to closure
  • Extract, analyze and report metrics and health indicators for status reporting purposes
    • Ensure adoption of organization processes and templates across all projects
    • Apply matured project management practices and standards to all projects
    • Build risk database, defect database and learnings database
    • Report project performance
    • Analyze impact of changes on schedule and efforts
    • Document and manage change requests
    • Understand/ Create Project scope, effort estimation, devise timelines and resource allocations
Preferred
  • Knowledge of HVAC equipment s like AHUs, VRF, PAC, RAC, Dedicated outside Air Systems, Heat pumps etc.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Psychometrics, Thermodynamics and Refrigeration Cycles, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Systems and Components (compressors, heat exchangers, fans and blowers, refrigerants, , construction materials, safety devices, etc.), HVAC&R Design.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
  • Knowledge of sheet metal part and assembly modelling
  • Working proficiency in the CAD (2D & 3D) design tools preferably ProE/Creo and PLM (Wind-chill)
  • Proven experience on Team building, people and project management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and be able to discuss technical topics with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical backgrounds
