This exciting role offers opportunity to: Eaton Research Lab is developing the cutting-edge technology for future products of Eaton and is really the innovation powerhouse fueling the growth. This role is responsible to lead the team of researchers in metallurgy and polymer domain and drive the technology development in the areas of advanced metals and polymers and additive manufacturing.Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and align teams strategy to that of global technology strategy for advanced materials and manufacturing for ERL working closely with Global technology manger and various Eaton businesses.
  • Set priorities for Pune team and drive timely execution on all research programs.
  • Build strategic relations with Eaton businesses and enhance collaboration to drive technology and product roadmaps inputs.
  • Develop collaborations with external partners like universities and government research labs to further strategic technology development.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the team and drive rigorous technical reviews to ensure quality leveraging Eaton research program management processes
  • Lead and deliver the people performance management processes for the group. Develop and implement strategies for people and organization capability development.
  • Encourage a strong development culture, set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability.
  • Management of resources, staffing, hiring, mentoring and maintaining a best-of-class research team.
QualificationsRequirement:
  • Education level required: PhD or master s in electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Years and area of experience required: 10+ years experience post PhD or 13+ years experience post master s degree in academic or corporate research teams. At least 2+ years experience leading research teams.
  • Technical knowledge: Advanced metals, metallurgy or advanced polymers or additive manufacturing
  • Soft skills: Working with global stakeholders, ability to influence and communicate with senior leaders, strategic thinking and business acumen.
