    • Eaton s Research Labs (ERL) is a global research team and has an exciting and rewarding position for a Technology Manager seeking a challenging career in Intelligent Machines & Electrification domain. This position enables the person hired to develop new technologies, improve existing products, acquire internal and external funding, lead discussions with customer technology leaders, present ideas and projects to Eaton business leaders and ERL leadership. A good blend of technical knowledge and business acumen is desired to be successful in this role. The selected candidate will be working with engineering teams located at EIIC Pune and collaborate with different teams and businesses at various locations.
    • Manage a team of scientists & engineers specializing in various technology areas that are part of the Energy Systems group, with a specific focus on Intelligent Machines & Electrification research area.
    • Champion technology realization programs utilizing our internal project execution processes, including Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, and Technical Reviews.
    • Direct the development of advanced technology projects, monitor achievements and review progress. Collaborate with Program Managers in the development of detailed project plans. Lead globally diverse cross-functional project teams effectively and manage selected projects under the guidelines of our internal stage-gate process and Agile methodology.
    • Monitor and report overall performance of responsible projects. Responsible for periodic project status reports, quarterly reports and other reports using specified reporting processes.
    • Define, acquire, and upgrade as necessary lab/experimental infrastructure necessary to execute the projects. Support the team in the preparation of capital appropriation requests.
    • Implement policies and procedures on various functional specializations, such as EHS, finance, HR, corporate, and facilities related.
    • Foster an environment for creativity while promoting the generation of value-added intellectual property. Maintain and defend existing patents that cover the technology needs of the businesses.
    • Lead and develop employees. Fully utilize those resources to meet global objectives. Facilitate global communication and cooperation between locations, assign and manage workload to assure projects are adequately resourced.
    • Identify and develop commercialization solutions with substantial growth potential and provide advisory services to business partners
    • Actively participate in strategic planning and development of Eaton product/service offerings and support New Product/Technology Introductions concurrent with Eaton business needs.
    • Possess strong business acumen and the ability to understand and formulate compelling value propositions and to understand and drive through value and adoption chain.
    QualificationsRequirement:
    • Master s Degree Or Ph.D. in Electrical/Electronics/Systems/Controls Engineering or equivalent technical field from accredited institutions.
    • Master s Degree (min. 10 years) or Ph.D. (min. 8 years) of industrial experience or entrepreneurial experience.
    • Manager of people experience (min. 4 years) preferable.
    • MBA or executive MBA preferable.
    • Demonstrated expertise in the following areas: Intelligent machines, advanced sensors, controls & actuation, prognostics & health monitoring/condition monitoring, connected & intelligent systems, EV systems and more electric concepts for vehicles & aerospace,
    • Good understanding of digital validation tools/techniques to predict performance of products.
    • Strong understanding of DFSS methodology and tools. Ability to apply Design for Six Sigma methodologies including QFD, DoE and reliability engineering. Green belt certification in DFSS or DMAIC is highly desired.
    • Experience in program management, new product development & innovation process.
    • Proven track record of delivering technology concepts into commercialization path.
    • Experience with proven track record in new technology development with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
    • Business acumen with proven record of formulating value proposition.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
    • Working in global business environment, drive for results, influencing without authority and strategic planning.
