Job Description

Essential job functions :

  • Principle advisor to the Global Sourcing Group Executive on all aspects of the India Merchant Segment application development groups.

  • Works closely with Line managers and US internal customer groups and managers to ensure best in class operations. Point of contact, support and escalation for customer team management for issue resolution and trusted adviser on best management practices.

  • Coordinates closely with other India Segment and Site leaders to share best practices and create consistent processes and policy enforcement across the Global Delivery Organization.

  • Leads the development of strategy, risk management, productivity and quality management within areas of responsibility. Directs and develops change management policy and practice. Monitors, evaluates effectiveness of programs and development and takes action. Drives continual process improvements that positively impact cost, revenue, performance efficiency, process development and solution delivery.

  • Directs and develops highly technical teams, sometimes with multiple skillsets and/or locations, supporting application system development, production support and testing. Engages with business units to develop strategies to support business direction. Briefs executives, internal and external clients on application system and testing strategies and business implications.

  • Understands internal and external customers strategic road maps and goals. Builds influential relationships internally and with clients and partners. Directs the interaction and engagement between teams, clients and partners. Acts as an ambassador and senior subject matter expert in client meetings and sales support. May manage key vendor relationships and/or facilitate good vendor management practice.

  • Connected and well versed in local conditions, legal requirements and customs. Advises and when necessary drives initiatives needed to ensure high employee engagement, satisfaction, retention and morale.

  • Expert in latest technical trends in software, quality and system development. Champions a culture of metric driven continuous improvement and technical innovation across all direct and indirect groups.

  • Oversees software development and testing activities for assigned areas in support of client requests, new sales, strategic initiatives, product development and internal enhancements. Manages, grows and protects client revenue. Establishes priorities for work requests. Takes overall accountability for quality and timeliness, adjusting resource allocations, based on business needs. Ensures development is consistent across products. Identifies and removes roadblocks to success. Takes critical decisions escalated by teams.

  • Act as the senior technical subject matter expert for applications and development, providing direction to business and technical teams and acting as the senior escalation point on technical issues. Creates solutions for highly complex and sensitive problems and provides direction for other teams. Evaluates industry and technical trends and developments and provides guidance that influences application development and testing. Identifies IT and payments industry developments and best practice. Provides technical due diligence on potential acquisitions and partnerships. Champion and foster technical innovations across technical teams.

  • Provides budget oversight for all Merchant Segment groups in the local site. Advises Remote managers on budget requirements and assists in preparing budgets and managing adherence to budget targets. Manages the resource planning and management processes.

  • Provide vision, direction and leadership to teams providing first line client support (ensuring that service desk SLAs and other client obligations are met. May set the strategy for operational support across multiple application platforms, act as the senior escalation point on incident and problem management.) May manage client implementations, change and release management, the tuning and optimization of the platform to enable client growth and confidence, or other special teams. May manage multiple specialist teams

  • Ensures that application systems development and testing processes and practices are compliant with corporate and regulatory standards (both domestic and international). Leads the development of IT policies and standards. Leads responses to internal and external audits. Ensures any issues are remedied. Ensures that vendor management and other compliance standards are met.

Minimum Qualification: -

  • Engineering graduate/post-graduate with good academic record.
  • At least 15+ years of experience in managing technology support and project management functions, with at least 8+ years of experience as head of the function including project management
