Job Description

    Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner, Pune Tech HubTitle: Vice President, People Business Partner (HRBP), PuneThe role is responsible for the design and implementation of the overall people strategy for Mastercard Pune Tech Hub, leading a team of people business partners, and partnering with APAC regional Center of Excellence colleagues. Partner with executives to understand the business strategy and develop effective People & Capability (P&C) strategies to deliver business objectives in a consumer-driven P&C environment. Enabling managers and leaders in business through a holistic talent agenda that drives business results. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, People and Capability, South Asia. This position will be based in Pune, India, supporting the India Tech Hub.The key responsibilities of this role are to:Strategically partner and serve as a key advisor on all P&C related agenda to Tech Hub leadership. Influence business to the right solutions that will enable delivery of strategic plan; Influencing P&C to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and are aligned to business requirements Rapidly build successful relationships, having impact and influence with stakeholders at a senior level and an ability to critically challenge Lead the development and delivery of talent strategies and initiatives for India Tech Hub employees. Contribute to the development of the AP People & Capability Agenda, with a focus on culture and engagement, talent management & development, rewards, and strategic resourcing. Provides in-depth market insight and advises on the talent implications of external trends and the necessary next steps to address potential workforce implications. Accountable for ensuring P&C processes and talent strategies are translated and implemented appropriately and effectively across markets and regions Drives change for the business through cross-functional planning, identification, and strategic implementation of P&C strategies Partners cross-functionally with COEs, GBSC (HR Shared Services), and other Tech Hub PBPs on the delivery and implementation of P&C programs Responsible for cultural stewardship, leadership development and performance and change management Participates in the day-to-day local P&C delivery and operations for local P&C functions and serves as the chief point of contact for all Tech Hub P&C inquiries Serves as subject matter expert for local labour and employment regulatory environment and reviews P&C strategies to ensure compliance Manage the team of local P&C specialists, conduct goal setting and performance appraisal processes, coach and develop employees as an organizational resource and leverages resources and teams as they report to this role on a matrix basis Act as positive culture change agent, strategic business partner and advisor to the India Tech Hub Leadership team. Champion the Mastercard Way and be responsible for the cultural stewardship of the business Coach and develop a highly capable people business partner team with a diversity of skills in line with strategy that can support business expansion. Embed the Mastercard approach to DEI and ESG Support the business through talent management processes i.e. performance management, executive development, leadership succession planning Actively provide local market intelligence to regional and global PBPs to inform any workforce and talent implications Governance of the total rewards approach, including compensation, benefits and wellbeing Act as advisor to complex employee relations matters to mitigate risk to the businessThe skills and experience required for this role are:Extensive and broad P&C experience including talent management, reward, learning and development as well as overseeing effective regional / global processes and systems Subject matter expertise in P&C with extensive operational experience, and knowledge of the payments / tech industry and South Asian legislation Proven track record as an experienced P&C leader with the skill set and capability to lead the function in a business of significant scale and growth Good relationship skills and superior influencing skills to develop and maintain strong and lasting business relationships Demonstrated ability to work in a highly complex business with a large distributed workforce Strong understanding of the key commercial drivers of the business, as well as an excellent operational focus Excellent people leadership skills who can engage and inspire high-performing functional teams within a regional and global framework Strong professional standards and a high level of personal credibility and integrity Flexible and agile to operate at the strategic and comfortable to be hands-on Requires the ability to foster open communications across all internal or external organizational levels and to interact across multiple organizational levels of internal and external customer groups. Ability to implement policy and provide inputs into the strategic direction for the organization.
