Job Description

    *Provides operations leadership for small or medium size warehouse or Distribution Center, shift or department. Manages multiple shifts of warehouse operations including transportation and packaging. Provide safe working environment for all CMI & contract employees. Ensure internal and external customer requirements are met thru the Cummins Operating System (COS).Lead efforts within one or more logistics sub-functions. Ensures internal and external customers expectations and requirements are met while ensuring supply chain optimizationProvides operations leadership and improvement focus for warehouse operations including transportation and packaging operations driving results, creating and monitoring measures, providing motivation, and setting expectations in safety, quality, production and cost.Manage service providers to the negotiated Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statement of Work (SOW) requirements to ensure deliverables are met.Communicates with customers, suppliers, shop floor, stakeholders, and staff.Leads annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for PDC operations.Manage and develop supply chain capability; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.Set the aim for the organization and ensure individual work plans are consistent with supply chain initiatives.Responsible for ensuring Cummins values are present in the plant. This includes championing diversity, community involvement and right environment initiatives.Manage daily operations across functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.Lead continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leverage common processes tools, and information systems.Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead the cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-company alignment.Create common supply chain processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.Develop, understand and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators.Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans.Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense resources, and capital.Manage, coach, and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.Overall Leadership Responsibility of one or multiple Parts Distribution or Logistics Centers.Mentor and coach individual and collective talent to develop supply chain capability across the organization., *SkillsWarehouse Operations - Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.Trade Knowledge Application - Applies knowledge of relevant trade regulations to Cummins processes and systems to minimize trade risks and costs. As the IPDC Plant Manager, she/he is responsible for driving safety and quality culture at the plant2. Responsible for Plant Operations and OE of the warehouse3. As the aftermarket continues to grow year over year, this person will be responsible for assessing the Plant capacity, drafting capacity plans in accordance with the business growth4. Closely work with internal and external stakeholders to maximize shipment flow through PDC5. The second part of the role is to drive functional excellence of Transportation for Cummins India
