Job Description

    Job Summary: As a Waste Manager Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing waste management strategies to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will oversee waste collection, recycling programs, and disposal practices to promote sustainability and efficient resource utilization.Responsibilities: Develop Waste Management Plans: Create and implement comprehensive waste management plans aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Monitor Waste Streams: Analyze waste streams to identify opportunities for reduction, recycling, and reuse. Implement measures to optimize waste segregation and disposal practices. Coordinate Waste Collection and Disposal: Collaborate with waste collection vendors and contractors to ensure timely and efficient waste removal. Monitor service levels and negotiate contracts as necessary. Promote Recycling Initiatives: Educate staff and community members on recycling best practices. Implement and manage recycling programs to increase diversion rates and minimize landfill waste. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reporting requirements. Maintain accurate records of waste generation, disposal, and recycling activities. Evaluate Environmental Impact: Conduct environmental assessments related to waste management activities. Recommend and implement initiatives to reduce carbon footprint and improve sustainability metrics. Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for waste management programs. Monitor expenditures and seek cost-effective solutions to optimize resource allocation. Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to staff members on waste management policies and procedures. Foster a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability within the organization Qualification: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Waste Management, or related field. Proven experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or related field may be required. Strong knowledge of waste regulations, recycling practices, and sustainability principles. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and community members.
